Anyone had a cortisone shot in their shoulder?

Well it worked for me.

But that was just my shoulder.

Full thickness tears in my Supraspinatus and infraspinatus.

No pain in over a year.

That’s interesting is that really true ?  I,m going through the process of getting in for neck, back and shoulder injections.  The shoulder is the lesser of the injuries. I tore the biceps tendon & rotator cuff aug 6.  And kept working 7 days a week. I couldn’t raise my arm at all.  Quit 8-28 had a bunch of stuff done. Oh 2 broken bones & tweeked wrist ligaments also 8-6.  I think I rebroke it in Nov.  tendinitis in the back of the shoulder is bad.  I hv no idea how to treat it.  Antiflamatorys 3-4 kinds nothing gets rid of it. 

BPC 157 did wonders for my shoulders. Unfortunately it did nothing for all my other joints. I’ve never had any luck with PRP, tried it 3 times. Cortisone has always worked temporarily for me, enough to get through rehab. 

Had cortisone shots, shoulder, elbow, back, knee, hand/wrist.  About the only place I have not had cortisone is my pecker lol. 

Had the blood platelet thing done on my knee when I had knee surgery.  Getting old sucks and ya got to be tough to get old lol.
 

What is  bpc 157 & prp ? Thx

Had both shoulders injected torn rotator cuff in both - the Dr used an ultrasound as he injected so he could see exact locations.

I highly recommend getting a $20 pull up bar for a doorway and use it just to hang from - it does immediate help with impingement. 

BPC 157 is a peptide, that was self administered a couple times a day. PRP is where they extract the plasma from blood they draw from you and inject the high concentration of plasma into your injured joint. I’m sure someone can explain it better than that but that’s my basic understanding of it. I tried it in both my elbows and one shoulder, they were stiff for a couple days and nothing else happened as fas as healing or decreased pain.

I have had 3 injections in the left shoulder joint, 3 in the left AC joint and 2 in the area the tendon goes down. The problem in the shoulder joint was fixed and no more problems. The AC joint will be getting surgery to trim away the arthritis. The 2 in the tendon fixed that problem also.  

Everything I've had a cortisone shot in just hurts more years later.

2 injection of the tendon, which 1 ? Bicep tendon injection does it work ?  Any secret on how to get rid a massive tendinitis in the back of the shoulder?  B4 bed I smear a prescription cream all ovr shoulder then wear a neoprene evs shoulder brace to sleep. Neck is soo painful with all the disk blown out. Back has my hip very painful a large area goes up into left stomach to groin, buttocks, it band is blown up. Where it connects to the knee bone , it feels like a sledgehammer hit the bone. And wrist constant throbbing.  Fri I spent the day on the phone trying to get in for injections. Dr GUo is in china for the next month, he does the back.  I,m so desperate to get out of pain. That I,m calling acue puncture places. 30 mph wind , damp & below 0 temps don’t help.  I can’t get pain killers because idiots ruined it for people in high pain. 

I'm having a hard time believing you don't have any tears in your shoulder after 6 or 7 weeks of pain after a hard impact and I can comment on this, because I've had 2 shoulder surgeries in the last 9 years. The cortisone is just a temporary band aid, but I'd look more into some type of  Stem Cell or having an MRI to see if your Rotator Cuff is torn. If it's just your labrum, they can work on just that with PT.  I had a tendon that was completely torn off the bone in my shoulder and no amount of Stem Cell therapy or Cortisone is going to fix that and without surgery that injury will continue to get worse and surgery is the only option.  Now I feel like a 16 year old again with absolutely NO! pain in my shoulders, just make sure you have a good surgeon.
