Me on the other hand replace my clutches a lot 😂 I use Hinson & am a sponsored rider so at a good price point I typically throw a new one in a ride or 2 before big races. I would say on average run a clutch 15-20 hours. Maybe less if I feel it slipping. I can typically tell if it’s slipping very easily at a track like Glen Helen.

Clutches are a wear & tear item. When the clutch wears out it’s now running the entire motor at higher rpm’s to go the same speed, runs hotter & harder. Engine won’t last as long.

if you have 40 or more hours on a clutch replace it (even if you don’t think it’s slipping) & you’ll immediately notice a significant difference in power.

Having worked on your clutches before, you need to downshift Tongue

Kit Forks.  I do have a buddy selling a kyb kit shock for the 19-23 model if interested.

They’re only lousy because they are Japanese industrial standard and not American Phillips. You actually need a jis screw driver for Japanese dirtbikes. That’s why everyone strips the screws on dirtbikes.

this is the one I bought to fix that issue.

Do you remember what bolts to buy? I’d like to do the same.

Is the TM Designs chain roller pretty loud? I've ridden with it twice and almost thought my disc or something was rubbing when I'm in the air

Just get the whole kit and wear ear plugs.  One less thing to worry about.

Yes,  so is the slider.   People comment to me about the clatter (I've tuned it out by now), but the durability is worth it.

I did, and I do wear ear plugs. Just trying to pinpoint the noise and make sure it's not something else. Yes the durability is worth it.

Two questions.

I put an asv clutch lever on to replace my bent stocker. It seems like theres NO freeplay. Is that normal? Super snug right at initial pull.

Xtrig rocs, yes, rocs. I traded my fixed 23s for the 21/23 offset model so i could use the 21. So far so good. I liked it for the 20 minutes i rode today. Anyone know the actual steering stem nut size? Lol. I need to address that because i definitely dont have it tight enough.

I like the pegs in the lower position. Have bars in middle/back position. Thinking of trying middle/front.

Had SRS here in ohio respring and revalve my stock stuff. Felt much better. Set sag at 105. Couple times i felt the front end push. Forks are at the first line. I didnt get any eject button feelings today so thats a plus! I believe Travis has a solid set up for the kx stuff if youre in th market.

The problem I had was caused by my ASV lever, it lightly actuated the clutch even with the lever all the way out, making it slip. Put the stock lever back on, no problems (besides the crappy engagement point)

No issues with the stock clutch or clutch lever for me. Will probably bleed the fluid here soon just to keep it fresh

Changed the rotor to the 240 and lowered my brake pedal further than stock by removing a few threads. Vast improvement for me, even with the tusk rotor.

Finally starting to feel comfy on it. Put in a 30 min and a 20 min tonight at a local hot spot (only one open in Ohio and is probably one of the best training tracks in the state). Felt closer to my normal self. Off bike training has helped too logging miles on the ol brooks and dropping from 250 on jan 4 down to 223 today. Pics from Sunday at the same track. Daughter can be spotted in the second pic. LolIMG 20240204 192002 247

Got a killer batch of pics from the track owner last night from yesterday's ride. IMG 20240207 215734 210IMG 20240207 215636 478IMG 20240207 220758 536IMG 20240207 215643 979IMG 20240207 221045 728IMG 20240207 215616 047

IMG 3951Has anyone shortened one of these mufflers?
I’m also thinking of having the main body anodized, powder coated, or Ceracoated. Thinking black.
Any recommendations on that?

I created a thread in tech board but figured I’d add here as well in the event someone figured it out and doesn’t venture to that board often. 2019 kx450

Bike starts up very easy. Runs great when on the track. However, the bike will not idle without me giving her gas. The issue is with the bike hot or cold. I have the idle screw way up. What I can say for certain it isn’t:

Idle too low

Valves too tight

Spark plug

It’s been going on for over a year and I just rule things out when I have free time. Can anyone help lead me in a good direction?

I’m thinking a sensor maybe? Pure guess.

Thank in advance.

Same experience with the ASV both clutch and brake. Bought the memlon versions right away (about $300cad) and first ride I smelt clutch shortly into it and had brake drag. I was able to modify the front brake after some drilling and dremeling. Clutch is sitting on the shelf. I emailed ASV with no response.

I did run those levers on my KTM and loved them. Still have them on my 300.

Im running stock clutch lever now and Flo front brake lever. Shouldnt have to modify a damn lever for it to work. My buddy just had to do the same thing on his brand new 24 with new memlon levers.
