Hi All
Before everyone gets excited, this isn't a nut hugging or bashing of Jett, I'm purely interested from a US perspective of what do you think he needs to do?
Ill be honest, I'm an Aussie and love anyone who goes over and has a crack, makes some sacrifices and gives up comforts of home. I of course have a soft spot for the Aussies but don't jump off a roof if they don't do well. Same goes for someone like Prado, Vialle, Roczen, Musquin etc.
I'm also a lover of SX/MX, doesn't worry me. I flew across Aus to attend the WSX and the AUSX open and have done for years. I just want to see great racing. Tomac wins, awesome, Plessinger wins, thats sick, Jett wins, good for him, I'm not fussed.
My question to you all, what does he have to do? if anything?
Less TV time even though its maybe not all his fault. Deegan was interviewed this week for second in the heat!
Focus on racing and a little less "Anderson Incident" happenings?
Go back to his youthful demeanour?
Just keep winning and accept the losses?
Actually man up and own the mistakes and sort it face to face?
Lose the "Lawrence Experience" in the pits? I'm a little against this as Privateers cant sell items. correct?
More after race and pre race interviews?
These are just random thoughts I had and maybe he should do nothing, focus on winning and understand that every rider at some stage has been boo'd.
"popular" may not be the right word as he already is, maybe accepted again or just cheered for.
Matt
He starts being humble again
Well! you stepped in it now, prepare to get your shoes dirty. Jett threads are not popular here right now and several forum members are going to get a serious case of irritable bowel syndrome over your Thread. How dare you.
Just win baby!
He just needs to be like RV2 for a season. Head down. Be blank and just keep everything to a minimal. If he wins the title.. he can talk. But as an aussie, i hope he just keeps his head down and starts dominating before his media teams starts talking again. After that, he can do what he wants.

Maybe going back and watching a few interviews with Mc after winning and losing. Class act that helped propel the sport. Jett needs to keep his cool in every situation. Tough when you're young but enemies on the track make it harder.
Im expecting it.
And if they all want to carry on about a simple post and question, they musn't have to much else going on with their lives....
Matt
It's kind of a non-issue in the long run, as long he leaves the recent behaviour in the past and it's not his new normal.
Like Ricky with his king shenanigans, people get over it.
Keep getting good results, tone it down a little, don't let your cronies play shadow government with the media and shutting down Instagram pages, it'll be all good. Also a lot of exposure should be expected but the total over exposure hinders more than it helps.
He can still have a personality and grow his fan base and 'brand', he doesn't need to turn into a sponsor listing robot.
Then again, in what other sport (vehicle based sport) does the competitors (as often heard in sx/mx) 'I just enjoy/want to ride my dirt bike'.
Sh*t, if I was a team owner paying good money I wouldn't not want you to 'just ride your dirt bike', but rather do your very best to win races, you are a racer a competitor.
When Snowboarding entered the Olympics, some competitors gave interviews where they were saying 'I just want to have fun, I ride with my friends from other countries', the reaction was quite strong in common media. Whattt? We are using tax payer money to send these kids to the olympics and they 'just want to ride with their friends'. The tax payer money was used to send them there to compete and bring home pride and glory!
Just my opinion, but I'd say he should tell Mirtl thank you for everything he's done so far, but his services are no longer needed. Then do like Dean said and put his head down and win everything with the charm and personality he had on 250s.
Honestly I hope he just keeps being his true self. Whether that be deemed good, bad or indifferent by the mob.
Reality; no matter what you do, there will always be people who don’t like you.
We need personalities in this sport, not actors or robots.
Is he unpopular??
seriously, a half dozen people on a forum doesn’t mean shit. There are far more people out there that you’ll never hear from who love him!
He seemed to get way more cheers this weekend than boos.
I think if he goes out and wins most weekends it won't improve. He will be looked at as the kid who wins and can't take a loss.
He needs to be humbled then claw his way back.
What 20 year old is humble after the World talks him up and he goes un beaten in his first season of 450 outdoors.
Give the kid a break! He walks the walk.
Don’t think you Yanks like being beaten.
He knocks Eli, Chase, Webb, AP, and Ando out of the way at Glendale deathcross.
He wins the next race, chugs a beer then cries?
I dunno?
Maybe give Friese some elbow grease? 🤔
Vocal minority, just like any lynch mob.
Pit Row
He needs to get his nuts out!
If you don't live for the applause the boos won't kill you
I want to retract my earlier post and say this is what he needs to do.
Exactly.
As CPR said. I want him to be him self, nothing less or nothing more.
Just look at RV. He was a boring robot when he raced and now he is outspoken and people love him.
People just have to get used to a honest interview instead of a boring pc person stand-ins there and rambling his regular sponsor list.
I was kinda hoping with the win he would just be stone cold, give nothing, say nothing, just show how it’s done and leave. Would be fun to be in his shoes and f with people like that. Give lots of insight when you feel like it, nothing when you don’t, be unpredictable.
Then he would get labeled a snob and boring. Lose lose unfortunately.
How does everyone forget so fast? When RV was champion he was considered a boring champion and people complained that our sport needed someone more popular to help grow the sport. Your narrative now is to tell the kid to be like the person our sport complained about 10+ years ago . All anyone has said about RV since he retired and his personality has come out that he is the best retired guy ever and they wished he was like this when he was champion.
The "be more humble Jett" narrative is comical. Does it all stem from the McGrath line? Was he supposed to scan the list all time win list to see who was 15th in all time wins and say, " You know, I'd love to get to Jeff Stantons number of wins, that would be neat."
In golf all everyone is cheering for is Tiger Woods to pass Jack Nicklaus all time Major record of 18 wins and have been saying he would break that record since he entered the sport, never booing him for it. Its wild that our sport guards records like are some sacred artifact that we cant see ever change hands. Likely 73 wins wont happen but at least its a talking point to the outside world that might get people interested in a sport they probably don't care about. I could care less about basbeball but when Sosa and McGwire were going after the home run record decades ago, I know I was following it.
This is a very strong field, some say deep. Why focus on one guy, they could have multiple story lines including all the great riders on the line, which would include all the fans of every rider.
The way it is now you either love or hate Jett, He has to have some incredible pressure on him. He has to be the victim of the worst management ever...anywhere.
By disconnecting his fans’ internet
Like last night’s meal, this too shall pass.
Supercross is already a tough business where the riders sacrifice a lot and don’t get paid much so it is good if there is some publicity. Many easily get forgotten so Jett (and the people telling him what to do kind of like with the Deegans are trying to make the most of it while they can). The fan zone, internet, and everything else is a lot of pressure. Even if Jett signs 100 autographs that’s only 100 if there’s thousands in the pits that would give me arm pump.
I am starting to think Jett and Haidan will stay successful not for going against the bad influences but continuing to do what they are told and they learn quickly. If you can’t go with the flow it can get to you quick with pressure like they say Jett is not stressed on the bike and seems relaxed off it too. If his supporters can keep it fun that’s what I think will keep him going. If all this fan and donut stuff isn’t working I’d go back to just racing too and let the mascot entertain.
It all depends what they want. Pastrana stayed signing autographs until the sun came up and now he has loyal friends. It all depends what the Lawrences are looking for and I don’t blame them to try and pay off the Ferraris lol but that’s motivation coming from eating oatmeal in Europe and his dad working overtime for the racing effort.
Did you ever think your issue with posters here is not your love for Jett but maybe on how you portray it....
