He is America's biggest hope for their first world title in over 15 years...

Zach is a nice, down to earth humble guy, hopefully he can challenge for the title in 2010.

This is an interview with him from Mxlarge - he is working hard.

I'm pulling for him. He proved he has the speed and a good work ethic. Our families have been friends since he was on 65's..... good people.

That is a pretty arrogant and ignorant view of one of your countrymen who could lift the world title.

He beat ferry at the Nations in 2008 on a 450... and won a GP last year...he is as fast as your top guys in the US.

It would be good for American moto if Zach won or was even in the mix for a title.
There are several generations of riders here who have no idea or true concept of a world title.

True but that applies to most guys at this level especially in GPs they have the speed on their good tracks but it is being a front runner on all terrains.

I think he is one of about 8 guys that could win the title. But Roczen, Musquin, Simpson and Paulin probably start as favourites and could well be the top 4 at the end of the year.

But a guy like Osborne, Frossard, Herlings, Charlier and Roelants maybe even Van Horebeck and Aubin could all get in there as well... wow...that 12 guys at least that can potentially win motos this year!!

There hasn't been an American in this position for a long time... he deserves a lot of respect from his countrymen for getting himself into a position to challenge for a World title.

If he can run at or near the front in the GPs he would obviously do it on a good bike in his own country.

Zach, Nicholls, Karro and Barr will have a good fight for the British title too...

Way to many American MX fans tend to only remeber the "bad" a rider may have done or had, in Zach's case that is not being in the best shape, having some issuies with his body and the bike during his last time in the US (on YOT).

So that is what you get to hear from most, not that he was amazing at MXdN's in 2008 and during the first GP races last year.

I'm one of those that wish Osborne all the best in 2010! Hanging out with him, his cool dad Mark at the karting event I put on at Des Nations made me even a bigger fan.

Cool to read that he hangs out and trains with Gundersen in Norway, even though it suprises me alot considering the weather (cold and alot of snow).

You go, Zach!

Yes, mccread, some of us absolutely care! Zach is a great kid, and is super fast. he never really reached his potential in the states because when he rode for KTM, he was 16 yrs old and just learning the ropes! even with YOT, he didn't get a chance to get his feet under him and climb through the ranks here. that being said, I hope he does well in the GP's, but reast assured, not all of us Yanks are under the impression that Roczen, Musquin, et.al., are slouches--those guys haul! so it won't be easy for Zach, that's for sure. I'm also very interested to see how Jimmy Albertson does in MX 1. for the first time in a long time (forever, maybe?), the U.S. has a heavy hitter in BOTH GP classes in the same year! go get 'em, boys!

Yes, I believe Zach will win the title.

My second fave GP rider - Marvin M - will finish second, if he doesn't get called up

to MX1 or America (even better).

Zach has gone over there to win and he won't come back until it's over - over there.

Also, worth mentioning - in regards to Europe, in general - is that the hottest, most

natural, tallest, girl-next-door beauties - reside in Amsterdam The Netherlands.

And they all drive crappy black bicycles rather poorly.

I think Alessi could be in GP from 2011 too.....

Zach has a good fanbase in the UK for his aggressive riding.

I think alot of people would be happy to see him win a world title even in the UK... unless it's between him and Simpson of course ha ha ... it would be good if the US media gave him more coverage in the US, mags like Transworld... maybe with Jimmy racing this year too that will happen more.

I like Zach and I hope he does well this year. He just needs to work on being consistant and only push it when comfortable. He seems to throw it away too much. GPs are all about getting good starts, patience, and letting the race come to you to get good results.

Go Zach....!! I think he got a wake up call when he didn't get a ride over here...I think it has made him rethink how he was going about things and take his profession seriously....And good for him...People may not remember him leading nationals here only to fade near the end....The kid always had the speed.. Now he has the determination....So good for him.....

No way Osborne could win the 2010 MX2 world title.

It would be even difficult for him to be in the top 5 at the end of the championship.

Not only did he beat Ferry but he beat him after crashing in the 1st turn and coming all the way back. he also went by Byrner like he was standing still.. ZO338 is no joke. He was a chubby little kid when he was in the states. Now he's a lean mean fighting machine.

Zack is proof that we throw away talent way to fast here in the US. If you don't come out of amateurs and win or podium consistently here in the states right away we throw you away and move on to the next guy. Zacks proof that it can sometimes take a little time to shine.

I am under the impression that Zach is riding the British Championship series and then selected GP races that don't conflict. I wish him success either way.

Zach is racing the entire the 8 round British Championship and the entire 15 round GP series.

The British championship doesn't run on the same weekend as the GPs. So it allows the British based GP riders to compete in both their own nationals series and the world championship. Eg Simpson was 4th in the GPs and British Champ in 2008.

The British Championship starts next weekend and the only American to win it was the legendary Mike Brown, Zach could well be the 2nd American to win a British Title but it will be a tough fight if Barr, Nicholls and Karro have anything to do with it!

Roczen is competing in the 2nd round of the British championship at Mallory park on the 21st of March.
