I hope someone posts his condition soon. It was one of the worst I've ever seen. The kind that makes you sick. Hope he is ok!

I caught the last second clear. To me, it looked like he spun or hit nuetral at the top of the DragonBack and went head first fast into the oncoming jump/Dragon. It didn't look good.

I caught the tail end also and he was down hard. Happened as nobhead said. It looked like he had his leg up when they took him away, not straight out but flat footed.

It looked like it, but I was club level and about 1st base area, so it was difficult to see.

I sure hope so "fcr". If I was J law watching Max, I don't think I could have even raced. J Law gets a pass on this one.

I heard from a team member that he is pretty banged up but thankfully nothing serious.
Hope this turns out to be true.

I know are sport is dangerous but the injuries of late are getting way out of hand and there's got to be something to it. I've been heavily involved in this sport as a racer since 1974 and i've been injured obviously quite a few times and have seen a lot of injuries but I've never seen injury lists like i've seen the last few years.I'm not sure if it's the bikes or the tracks they're building to challenge the new bikes but somethings got to change before it gets even worse then it is.

Bikes have evolved to a point where they are way faster then a few years ago.
I bet the speed of your average moto get off is 15 mph higher than ten+ years ago.
Humans however are still the same.

It was on the first triple on 3rd base. It was horrible looking. He did move his arms and legs but they had him back boarded very fast and taken away really fast.

If he is a blond kid, I saw him moving hands and feet.

Honestly i think the tracks have got more easier than they were ten years ago. You do have a point though. The sport is just dangerous period. loose your focus for a sec in a technical situiation and your effed.

He has a broken hip. Not good, but the less of the evils.

Supercross has claimed so many top riders this year, including the top 4 in points last year, and Anstie Searle and Rattary, Seeley in the 250f class so far... not good.

Hope MAx gets well soon it looked like he was approaching the level he belongs at... winning races.

http://forums.mxtrax.co.uk/showthread.php?t=265014

and it's AnSTie ! Is it so difficult ? He's not Russian or something like that. I hardly saw a thread yet in the States which got his name right.

I think a broken pelvis is pretty awful ! Just think what the impact must be to break a limb like that, it's not exactly like snapping a twig, is it ?

All the best for a full recovery, Max !

Much better news than what I expected to hear. Crash was reminiscent of James Marshalls crash. I can't understand why they still put a jump directly after dragonbacks. There is no time to recover if you hit neutral, you just torpedo the following obstacle with your head. Get well Max!

Just found this from: motomagazine.co.uk/news/max-anstie-broken-hip.html

Max Anstie out with broken hip

Unfortunately Britain’s Max Anstie suffered a broken hip after a huge crash in the heat race of the Lites class at Anaheim 3. Max was in third and hanging onto the front two riders Weimer and Canard when the crash happened, Max hit the face of the jump sending him crashing to the dirt and the bike looping through the air. Max will be having surgery tomorrow and is likely to be out for quite a while.
