What is the latest/greatest and most comfortable under jersey chest protector? What do you have and why do you like it?
RXR specializes in chest protection
Leatt
Ive been using the Leatt 3.5 its the smallest actual hard cover chest protector. Fits under tight jerseys great.
My wife uses the TLD rockfight with the D30 back and its very nice and quite a bit smaller but not quite as protective.
I haven’t purchased one yet but when things clear up in my neck of the woods I’ll be trying out the RXR R-Pro chest protector. Has inflated air cushions built into it.
There’s not much out there in reviews yet but Keefer has a video up on YouTube where he rides and talks a little about it

Astars bionic is good. I was never a chest pro guy and the transition was unnoticeable. I also bought one for my daughter and then a Fox Raceframe for my other daughter. The bionic is noticeably better quality and much more protective.
I currently have both the Fox Raceframe and the Leatt 3DF AirFit. I havent worn the AirFit since I got the Raceframe the middle of last summer. The AirFit has slightly more protection and is comfortable BUT for me its just to hot once temps hit 85-90F despite how lightwieght it is. The Raceframe is lighter yet and while I know it wont offer much if I have a big crash it does its job as far as blocking roost, protection from minor crash scraps, and doesn't hold heat when the weather gets warm. Even wearing it under my jersey it still works with my Leatt neck brace resting right on top of it.
I got the FLY revel light (lite?) Before the 23 season and I like it, I wear an Atlas as well with no issues. 5' 9" and 195-200lbs for reference.
That looks good Justin. Have more pics? Wondering what it looks like from the side. I tried the Alpinestars A-4 but didn't like the look that much so went back to my old over the jersey unit.
I have a Tld Rockfight and have no complaints.
Astars seems to put the most effort into airflow. For hare scrambles that is pretty important.
I just got the EVS F1 chest protector. Just trying on and throwing jersey over, I was really happy with the comfort. Hard shell front and back. Hopefully get some actual ride time with it soon.
TLD Rockfight Flex (D3O back)
Does this have hard shells on front and back?
I have the A stars bionic and an A1 or A1 plus, can’t recall which one. If it’s hot out I take the A1. Otherwise I really like the bionic as well. 5’ 11” 195
I guess I should clarify, I'm looking for a hard shell on front and back. Maybe all of them have this but let me know.
The Flex just has a D3O back (soft, but D3O really isn't soft in the traditional foam sense).
There is a plastic/hard option. I prefer the flex model for the fit.
I wish the Scott version with D30 was available here in the states or on the market. I wear the Leatt 3DF and like the idea of energy-dissipating foam/gels. Not sure why more folks haven't come out with them. There are some really innovative materials that can make them lighter and better fitting. That said, we just got the kid 17, 6'3 180 the A-Stars A-10 and took off the shoulder/arm pieces. He runs hot and really liked the ventilation it but we both wish the back protection came down further. Had a "factory" 450 off-road guy comment that he was going to try one because he felt the A10 offered more protection than the A6.
I run the atlas defender under my jersey. It fits well.
Pit Row
I'm gonna second this. Aside from the protection aspect, this thing is comfy. I got one last summer and love it.
Fly racing ce revel lite. I believe it's just the alpinestars a1 design, and fly bought the design.
Alpinestars A1 or A10…..can’t remember
A10 has rib and shoulder protection (and level 2 chest/back). A1 pro has level 1 chest/back but no shoulder or rib protection. The older A1 has level 1 back and rock protection front ratings.
If you are after a protector with hard front and back panels make sure they are actually CE approved, will be level 1 most likely. Big difference in the "roost protector" and the ones that are CE approved the Leatt 3.5 is about the most thin and comfortable while still being CE.
If its not CE approved id much rather just have a soft back like the TLD as its probably more protective anyways than the thin non CE plastic ones.

Has anyone had the chance to get their hands on the Seven Stratus chest protector? It looks good and ce level 2 front and back.
I wear an A10
EVS Revo 5. Limited front and back protection, but lightweight and comfy. Works great with Atlas brace as well.
Damn, so many options. I'm buying one for protection not roost deflection. I like the looks of the Seven stratus core and the Leatt 4.5 as both are CE2 and full coverage. I like the looks of the Seven in the back because it appears to drop down low for spinal protection. I wish someone out there would do a comparison of those for roost protection and those for safety.
Then it would just come down to sizing/fit/comfort.
Does anyone have one of these RXR's with the airbags? Are they bulky and uncomfortable?
I'm an Astars fanboi so...
Thank you! I don't have a ton of pictures wearing it while riding, this is the best I could find from the side. I am definitely a stockier build so results may vary, haha.
