Yes, load cell.  I don't like to give actual numbers because every dyno is different......we look for gains.  That being said, stock bike was in the 52.5-53.5 range stock.  With a mapped Vortex and PC T6 we were getting 57-57.8.  Numbers would depend on how heat soaked the bike was.  I dont think the air boot is an issue.  I think a better air filter cage, better filter, and some venting in the side panel and you are good to go.

Have you tried a slip on exhaust?  I’m wondering if you could get close to the same results just by switching out the muffler.  If the baffles inside the muffler are the real issue, a slip on sure would save a ton of money over a full system.

Yes, they have 2 baffles and a screen in there......it is really choked down.

This certainly seems worth trying.  If one of you out there is going to put on a full system anyway, try removing the baffles and screen first and let us know how it feels.  I’d really like to avoid buying a system if I can help it.

Someone did that earlier in the thread. Per your suggestion I went on Hammerheads sight and they don't show a shift lever for the 19-23 KX 450 which should be the same for the 24?

IMG 8878.jpeg?VersionId=t2ew csF5T78wAWRw2xk.4x8BI’m currently running a PC t6 slip on and there is a noticeable difference from the stocker. A slip on with the jkop cage and a twin air filter has been awesome! Highly recommend if you’re looking to save a few bucks.

Call them.  I have two of them for my ‘19.  I keep a spare because I can’t ride without them, so in case I tweak one, I have a backup.

That’s what I wanted to hear.  How much was the slip on?  Gotta be cheaper than $1400 for the whole system.

Full T6 is $999, the stainless system.  Slip on mufflers will be $485-550ish.

You are correct, I just saw that.  We can sell you guys a full T6 for a couple hundred more than that and it would be a better power gain.

On my stock muffler i ripped out the two screens with a long needle nose pliers and then bent the baffles flat. All you have to do is remove the end cap and then its easy, Took about 15 min start to finish. I haven't been able to ride it yet due to living in the frozen tundra, but it has a noticeable sound differance and snappier feel at the throttle.

Has anyone played with fork height? I've only ridden twice. Dry AZ hardpack track and Glen Helen vet track.  5mm is stock. I tried 3mm, tiny bit more stable. Stock seemed fine at GH. Just wanted to see what changes other west coast guys are making.

I dropped to 2.5mm and slightly tighter steering stem bearing torque. Added 15cc fork oil today. I’m thinking that will help the slight twitch that I feel every once in awhile.

I’m 6’ 1”, stand up a lot, and ride over the front of the bike. I think the above will fix it for me. If not, I’ll try forks flush and maybe drop the sag.

I thought you were quitting and trading your dirtcycle in on a zero turn? 😂

Same install procedure?  Let us know how it fits and seals.

I just made arrangements to pick up my ‘24 next week.

Chain guide question: Does anyone buy replacement rub blocks for the stock chain guide? I went through 2 Acerbis and 1 TM designs chain guides on my last KX and wanted to cut costs.

Buy yourself a chunk of hdpe and you’ll have wear blocks for days.

Nope, she’s perfect. I’ve even ran 13/50 with the 116L and that’s fine once it stretches. Double check sag and possibly add a touch of high-speed, if anything, to maintain the shock feel you’re accustomed to. Cheers

Any news on a radiator hose kit? Stock has 12 clamps, multiple fittings and a steel pipe - some room for improvement.

Anyone else’s stock muffler feel loose even with clamp and bolts tight? Mine has a ton of play side to side with everything tight

Not a ton, but she’s got some wiggle for sure.
