…after saying he’d testify in a public hearing, just not a closed door hearing (like the one he couldn’t attend because he was too busy holding a press conference outside the Capitol building at the time).

As Manny says, “You.  Can’t.  Make.  This.  Shit.  Up.”

At least one member of the press got in a good question the hallway…

“What kind of crack do you like to smoke, Mr. Biden?”

Daddy's little money launderer knows nothing's going to happen to him.

He has the DOJ, and every other government agency in his pocket.

Not to mention a pardon waiting in the wings.

Despite the big guy saying otherwise.

This was a hearing he wasn't required or expected to attend. His testimony was offered and refused.

I realized that last night after seeing additional reports.  Apparently it was more of a stunt on his part.  Looks like he would rather make his own rules up than go through the same process everyone else does.  After all, that’s the way he’s lived his whole life, so why change now?

This guy is such a tool…

Remember when Biden said his son never got money from Ukraine or China? (In a debate with Trump). Even CNN recently called this a lie..

Actually, when Marjorie Taylor Green decided to go ahead and ask him some questions, he turned his cowardly tail and ran off like the punk he is.

Sounds like he IS going through the same (Congressional subpoena) process as these guys that you don't seem to be harping on.  Except he at least offered to testify in open session, as opposed to these people.

The difference is Hunter does not have executive privilege. Trying to defend him makes one look foolish. If you or I did half the things he has done we would be incarcerated.

The funny part is even with all of hunters hacked data there's still piss-poor evidence of anything they are accusing him of. Biden's been in office 50 years and this is the best dirt they have on him, a couple loan repayments, and a fuck-up son.

Loan repayments? Yeah right! Only a fool thinks this is true. The evidence is there. It is being ignored by the Biden DOJ.

I get what you’re saying but it wasn’t exactly a stunt either. He’s in contempt for not showing up to a private deposition. He has offered to be deposed publicly. He’s in trouble for it, but I don’t think a good argument has been made for why it needs to be private, and I like that he would rather we all hear the words come out of his mouth than have them paraphrased or twisted.

Someone else here mentioned him walking out when MTG started asking questions. He was disrespectful to her personally because she’s been that way to him. She was literally holding posters of his nude photos that everyone in that room is sick of seeing.

Do you think if you or I were subpoenaed we would be able to dictate the terms of our questioning? We would be locked up for doing what he has done.

It was established a few years ago the DOJ can't prosecute a sitting president so you'll have to wait til 2029 to throw ol' Joe in the clink.

If Republicans had anything sticky on him don't you think they would act on it instead of sitting around staring at Hunter's Hog and pulling their pud.

A subpoena hasn't been issued to his liking.  Is that what you're saying?  That's what you believe is a legitimate excuse for not answering a congressional subpoena?  He wants to be publicly heard so the left side of the house can run cover for him and make this a bigger shit show than it already is.  In private or publicly, what should it matter, it has been stated by him and his father that they are innocent.  In fact, they believe that there is no evidence that even supports the initiation of this hearing.  So, as said many times before, if you're innocent why not testify and prove it?

The only opinion that I gave is that I prefer to see and hear things first-hand with my own eyes and ears.

He’s being charged with tax evasion. Since you’re talking about his dad and their claimed innocence, I don’t think you know what you’re taking about right now.

I’m not a lawyer or law enforcement officer and don’t know the rules. It seems like a lot of legal proceedings are getting dragged out in D.C.

You don't have Congress issue you a subpeona for tax evasion, do you?

I thought they were digging for information to decide whether or not to try to impeach Joe.

You do when that Congress is grasping at straws trying to play tit for tat and make one thing seem comparable to another.

You make this too easy Homer.

It was started by the clown Eric Holder, the Obammy AG who defied a congressional subpoena.

The goober Hunter is a private citizen and has zero excuse for not showing up and should be arrested like Steve Bannon was.

https://www.usnews.com/debate-club/was-the-house-right-to-hold-eric-holder-in-contempt/eric-holder-is-defying-the-law-by-resisting-subpoena

Eric Holder Is Defying the Law by Resisting Subpoena

When someone receives a subpoena, they can either comply or challenge the subpoena on certain legal grounds or claim the documents are privileged. What they cannot do is ignore the subpoena and that is what Holder did. For months, Holder has ignored the subpoena. When Darryl Issa asked if the documents had been assembled within the Justice Department, Holder refused to answer. In short, he was thumbing his nose at the committee.

As Manny says, “You.  Can’t.  Make.  This.  Shit.  Up.”

That’s because these hearings are nothing but complete garbage. These congressional dog pony shows accomplish absolutely Nothing. These committees can’t prosecute. They can’t do formal investigations. All they can do is call these people in and gripe at them. Then they all go home at the end of the day.

Good grief, why are we even talking about this. There is a club none of us are members of, and Hunter is in it. Superbowl Sunday he could go out during halftime and crack the entertainment for the evening with a baseball bat in the noggin on live TV and nothing would happen to him - kind of like what Will Smith did. They all know it, they all sleep pretty good, and we don't know 10% of the really nasty shit they get away with at our expense. Do any of us think any of these parasites ever think "Oh shit I'm in trouble now!", of course they don't. He is the Sheriff of Nottingham and we are just allowed to live on the fringes of Sherwood forest.
