Have you raced that 1980 YZ yet? If so, how's she looking and how'd it go?

More importantly is making sure the carb does not come into contact with the cases on the G model. The end result is fuel frothing from vibration that will cause a lean condition and possible seizure.

There was a Yamaha Wrench Report update issued on those bikes after many seizures.

Ride that thing. It's a beauty and it'll clean up nice every ride. Just don't get it out in the mud.

Hi Guys

Just back from vacation.

No haven't raced the bike yet.

I started it up a took a spin across my yard. WOW is it fast! My buddy Ken took it for a blast too and even with a slipping clutch it pull the front wheel up in third gear.

But now I just can't bring myself to get it dirty!

The worst part is that I don't want to just let it sit in my garage either. Don't want to sell it but damn I really want to ride it but how do you do that without getting it all dirty!

This thing took three years for me to complete and now this confusion.

I need vintage therapy! LOL

I don't blame you for not wanting to ride it. That thing is a work of art IMO. I can also see how tempting it is because it's such a sweet bike.

I wish I had your dilemma.

Don't leave it in the garage.
Build a room inside your house dedicated to MX and keep it in there.
