You’re allowed.  Webb in the under 1:01 club and looking frosty.

What if, I mean just work with me here, but what if Cooper Webb steps forward and forgets that long play Carmichael strategy he embraced when entering the 450 ranks and returns to his 250 arrogant fast-as-f*ck ways and is the sole rider taking it to Lawrence in 2024.

An IMMENSE story.  A Rocky moment. Forget what you learned and go offense. Train for confidence, speed, and aggression. Let the rest go.

I have a feeling we may see this from Webb as he quietly trains for Anaheim. I think he can do it like nobody else can. Just a vibe I'm pulling from the crisp air of an October night.

I’m with you man. I like your enthusiasm lol. I’ve always been a fan of Webbs racing, mind games  & mental toughness, especially from his 250 Yamaha days. He was blazing fast in SX back then. That’s what made me a fan of him so I’m hoping the Yamaha Webb shows up. He did good in qualifying so we’ll see how it goes. 👊🏼✊🏼✊🏼

right, back in those days he was effing fast. its clear to me he purposely adopted the carmichael long play in the 450’s and traded in some of that intensity. with the Lawrence bros coming in this year, my hope is he threw the long play strategy out the window (or mostly) and has trained to get back to his real self.

If there’s one thing Webb does, it’s shut up the ones who doubt him. Expecting a good race from him tonight.

OP...this thread aged well.

Coop is looking pretty damn good in practice/qualifying where he normally doesn't

Lotta people counting him out...as they always have...and have been proven wrong time and time again.

Facts. He does well as the underdog especially when he’s feeling the bike setup. I think he’s going to do well on the YZ. He was on fire last year until he got hurt. The only one challenging Eli. His mental toughness helped him get in Eli’s head a bit too.

Come on Webb!   Show us those amazing low inside carves again like back in '21 when you had velcro on your tires.

He looks great . Way better in the whoops . And throwing the bike around.  If I am him, i would nt give weege  a interview all year . I thought it was hugely disrespectful to put him in show 2 of racer x show. He is a two time champ who easily could have be a 3 time last year .

Same shit they did to Coop last year at the opening presser.   They put the 2x SX champ in the 2nd row.    I loved his response about that  "Haven't you heard, I'm washed up".       ...and then he went on to challenge for the title keeping Eli honest, even taking the red plate for a bit.      One of the things I like most about him.  The quiet confidence and doesn't give a shit what the mouth-breathers and industry "insiders" have to say.

Sexton running #1 is a joke.    Title was Elis or Webbs.

How is it a joke? He finished the series with the most points.

Unfortunate circumstances for Webb and Tomac, but shit happens.

Sorry Mav....    it's an inherited title.   He wasn't in the running.

It's the shittiest way to become a "champion".

Unfortunately, injuries are part of the sport. If we had to put the series on pause each time someone got hurt in order for them to heal, the sport wouldn't advance.

that’s what I was hoping we might see from him. we’ll see if it continues but this is a good start.

Webb surprised me tonight. Stronger than I expected. Don’t mind either. But his crash was also a surprise.   He will make things interesting this year if he stays on two wheels.

Gotta respect his “send” in the last 5 minutes to try to catch Jett.
He’ll definitely be a contender this year.

Well here we go again. Anderson not fast enough to affect the leader but fast enough to block those moving up and deny a more interesting race for the lead. Seem to remember a similar battle with Coop in the final rounds last year. And with Mookie a couple times. And with…

I think Coop was feeling it tonight and would have given Jett a serious run if he’d have gotten past the rolling roadblock.

If you aint fast enough to pass the second place rider, you aint fast enough to pass the leader either.

Coop threw what he had at Jason and could not pass. And for the next time, get on it earlier then. Don’t wait 15 minutes to make a pass if you want to have a chance to win the race..

Really awesome to see Webb starting the season so strong and on pace. Definitely going to be in the hunt throughout the season. Great stuff for the fans.

For sure, bummed to see him go down but loved how he was riding before that yesterday.

He should be in for a good season, all being well.

I think this race showed that with so many riders close in speed, if you want to pass you will have to bump em out of the way.

Amazing how fast everyone forgets that he's a 2 time 450 sx champ.  Reading the above you'd think the dude didn't live up to something he was supposed to do.  Webb is not Carmichael or McGrath, and that's okay.  There's only been one Carmichael and McGrath.  It's a silly world to live in to think 2 time 450 sx champ is a failure.  I expect Webb to be right there come sx season battling for the Title next season as he consistently does.  We are also forgetting Webb was ahead of Sexton in points and keeping Tomac honest last season before he got injured.  Without his late season injury, he's likely the champ instead of Sexton just last season.

Your story leaves out the fact he only won two main events - two - last year, and I doubt he would have won another even if he'd not been injured and even when Tomac went out.  He was only somewhat in the 'hunt' because Sexton kept crashing. He doesn't have the speed of Tomac and Sexton and is nowhere near the level of Jett.  And the thing about Jett is he barely, if ever, crashes.  Webb will struggle to get near the podium.  It's a new era in case you hadn't noticed and Webb's not in it.

Yeah, some poorly aging posts in here for sure...

Man, what a great ride and day for Webb. Watching him and Tomac in qualifying was fun and impressive. Jett pulled his usual tricks while Coop and Eli pounded fast laps. We are now sitting in Webb pocket of grit and tenacity late in the series. Momentum is on his side and the classic tale of youth/speed against the gritty vet who no doubt raised his own game this year. Respect

Tomac, Sexton and Roczen for pace will keep Jett on his toes and mix it up for wins.

Yup....so many clowns are eating crow right now.  I love it.   Whether Coop wins the title or not this year....he's been amazing.     Call me not surprised one bit.
