Ride you mo'cycle a bunch.

Stop beating the bishop - it's been proven to build lactic in the forearms.

Running is nice, but if your knees are f'ed up like mine low impact cardio like rowing machines or bikes are good. One thing people don't seem to mention is try to loosen up on the bike. You can have all the strength and energy in the world but still not be able to ride 3 laps if you can't relax and flow. Work on keeping your shoulders loose and constantly remind yourself to breath. You wouldn't believe how much you try and hold your breath while riding and how bad it runs you down.

if arm pump is the issue fitness is not the only cause. warm up and strectch your forearms and wrists before and after riding. dont wear tight gloves, grip the bike with your knees, try different grips, setup your levers properly.

Someone try this one and report back please. Get a 55cm exercise ball (65 is just too tall for me). Get in the pushup position with the tops of your feet on top of the ball. Rotate your lower body until your feet are pointed to the left, one on top of the other. Hold for a few seconds and return to center. Rotate lower body rt. Return to center. That is one. Now, three sets of ten. Excellent moto training exercise.

Pushups? Grip the 55cm ball and do your pushups.

Situps? Sit on the ball and do them.

Interval training is where it is at. Lots of programs available online with minimum equipment required. Start off easy if you are just rolling off the couch. If not, get after it 3X per week with different routines, no more than one hour in total time, from start to finish. Kick start the metabolism, drop the weight, big increase in fitness.

If you can deffinatly run...a lot of moto guys have torn up knees. Only thing I've found that can put me into moto shape. Riding for strength, running for endurance.

Key question: Are you riding/racing for fun or are you a thousand percent serious?

Swimming, bicycling or rollerblading, and stretching is a good program especially for riders over 30.

My solution for arm pump is to just go out and ride at a reduced pace. Do this for a few weeks while slowly building up your speed. Whenever I go out and try to banzai it I get arm pump big time.

You'll also spend less time crashing...and healing.

Gary semics makes a video about "eliminating arm pump" never seen it, but you might want to check it out dude rknows his stuff. Besides that you can work on gripping the bike with your knees, and rowing with the power of the bike controls. Idk dude your kind of on your own with this one theres a bunch of different shit that causes arm pump. Its cost me a lot of race wins though and robbed me of a bunch of even more fun i could have been having.

don't wear tight gloves, grip the bike with your knees, try different grips, setup your levers properly.
Plan on replacing your graphics often, or you aren't gripping the bike enough. Follow these four tips and say 'goodbye' to arm pump.
Strong thighs = less arm pump.

the first, and probably half of the battle is nutrition. Not as much of an issue when you are young, but, after you get into your mid 20's, that will ruin you. You can't out run/lift/ride poor nutrition.

I hit the gym at least 3 or 4 times a week and am in pretty decent overall condition... however nothing replaces seat time for Moto conditioning...

Over the holidays I didn't ride for probably 6 weeks... but I did continue working out in the gym, cardio, isometrics, weights, etc... feeling great... that first time back on the bike after the holidays was pure hell. Arm pump that took forever to subside and the next day I was hurting BAD! Most of it was from not being on the bike and the other part from riding too tight (holding on too tight and not gripping with my knees).

The next time I rode was a huge improvement from the previous... it's tough being a weekend warrior and trying to improve Moto conditioning...

One other thing I found that helps with arm pump... avoid Caffeine before you ride! If you have to have it, no more than one cup of coffee! I've found that it makes a big difference in the severity and how long the arm pump lasts for me...

Dang, I'm getting arm pump typing this!! Shocked

My arm pump went away when I stopped holding onto the bars with a death grip, completely opened my hands over jumps, and made a conscious effort to "breath" when riding.

Does that work for ALL your personalities, or just "Titan?"
