You must still be doing laps and shooting baseline 3s then pro?

My biggest moto regret is not doing everything I could to enter at least one national. I was prepping to try to ride the Dallas SX in 84, but grossly overtrained without watching my nourishment and ended up with Epstein Barr.

I was mostly a top 5 local exp, and I’m certain I wasn’t  nearly as fast as I thought at the time, but at least I could have told my grandkids about it!

Then I got married in 85 and made a deal with my wife that if I broke a bone I’d quit. Three races later ( on Easter Sunday ), there was a big purse at Allen Ranch in Bixby, OK.  I was doing backhoe work at the time and coming out of a tough winter was pretty broke. I  bought a lottery ticket and won $50, and used that money for gas and entry fee to go to the race ( Guy Cooper was rumored to be racing, but didn’t  show up). Needless to say I broke my left humorous.

I didn’t ride at all for 20 years.

So  I guess my second biggest regret was buying that lotto ticket!

124  consecutive baseline 3,s is my record. I had to hit 20 free throws consecutively at the end of practice or start ovr.  It’s easier than walking for me. Pure shooters don’t miss we occasionally rim out . But we know that’s a fluke & 100% the next one is going down.  Just like the last lap make it a good one. Then leave knowing your on.

I have a few but would only change one if I had the chance. I would have bought pictures from the races I have next to nothing left of my racing career.

I wish I had more pics, too. There was nobody taking pics and selling them around here in the 80s, we just had friends take them with cheap cameras.

My avatar pic is probably the best from a handful that I have.

Just regret i didn't start racing earlier !  Loved every minute and every aspect of riding/ racing an wrenching.

I felt i had  to give it up after my wife passed to look after my 12year old daughter

Still got a brand new ( apart from about 1hr ) ktm 450 2017 in the shed

Going from a 85 straight to a 250f

waiting until I was 30 years old to own a 125

not buying a 125 sooner

underestimating the fun factor of a small bore 2 stroke

selling my 2001 yz250 to buy a 2018 TC250

I just tought of a good one. Back in 2015, I came down from Canada to finish my bachelor's degree at Calstate San Bernardino on a student exchange program. At that time, I was super into skateboarding and knew nothing about dirt bike. Fast forward 4 years later, I got into dirt bike and absolutely love it, just to realize I once was at the epicenter of the motocross industry and almost at a walking distance from maybe the most iconic track in the world. I'll try to make my way back there one day!
