We are looking for some FIRSTHAND advice to figure out what races we should hit in January. We are driving down from Vancouver Island BC in my '92 Cummins 4x4 with my camper. Hoping it will be safe while parked during the race. So should I avoid any races? We are thinking of hitting 2 of them and either hanging out with some hot rod friends during the week in between or heading to Baja Mexico if we hit San Diego.
TIA!

Anaheim 1 and San Diego. Skip San Francisco. Arizona is a good area and a great stadium.
Truck ain’t gonna make it.
Parking at angel stadium is totally safe. I would probably skip San Francisco because your camper would be a huge target for thieves and break ins are absolutely out of control in the Bay Area. I would do A1/A2 and San Diego.
SD for sure, good weather good venue etc. Yes it’s very safe turn off the Fox News. lol kidding, but not really kidding

Check what they're going to classify your truck as. If it's just a cab high or slightly taller shell you'll probably just pay a standard vehicle parking fee. If it's an overhead camper they might classify it as an "RV" I don't know how much they're reaming, eer charging to park an rv this year. I took my 22' C class motorhome there around 15 ? years ago, and it was over 100 bucks. Might be something to research beforehand. I have no idea where they draw the line between "Camper shell on a truck" vs "Recreational vehicle", or what the parking fees for rv's are this year. I did a quick google search for curiosity and couldn't find anything about rv parking for SX, other than some stuff from 2007. Looks like 20 bucks otherwise.
I dont own a TV and havent had cable for over a decade, ha!
A1 and San Diego, if you have never been to a nice football stadium Arizona is pretty badass. If you need any Cummins parts the SoCal distribution hub is in Irvine 20 min from Anaheim and Fox HQ and show room across the street.
After all, it IS California under Gavin Newsom we're talking about. Parking is probably only $200 for that vehicle, but the surcharges for homeless sustenance, voter suppression, Newsom/Pelosi retirement/slush fund, tire disposal fee, battery disposal fee, recycling fee, convenience fee, inconvenience fee, smog abatement fee, tolls on non-toll roads fee, taxes on the electricity that CA sells to other states at a discount fee, sales tax, double tax, tax on the double tax, state commission to oversee the collection of taxes fee, and the "we partner with Ticketmaster, so even though they didn't sell you the parking, we charge their fee" fees could add up to thousands.
Anaheim 1 is the move.
Energy at A1 is like no other round. Most of the guys are still racing at that point in the series.
A1 is the best. I loved Oakland sx. Great pregame atmosphere and easy parking. But now that it is in SF, parking is a shit show. You could park in a nicer area/transit/ferry station and go that route also. SF will likely be cold and wet though. Being the second round sometimes the racing is even better in the 450 class. Gloves come off more.
I'd say the advice from others is pretty spot on.
A1, 2 and SD. Golden!
If you need a safe place to park and stay about one hour from both a1 and San Diego feel free to camp at our place for free , we have a decent size group going to both a1 and San Diego as well .
Parking lot pre race at the new SD stadium is pretty awesome. I loved Petco but I think the new stadium is even better.
