RV is the next RC? That was a lame comparison to begin with. RV is a badass but it is an insult to RC to even remotely compare RV to him in SX...sans the red hair.

Bobby would you agree that these younger guys seem to able to match the pure speed that James brought to the table in SX a couple years ago. I see this of how SX evolves about every 5 years. McGrath brought his style that was almost unbeatable. He was dethroned by RC with the conditioning aspect as his signature. James comes along and the pure speed he brought made it very tough for anyone older to run his pace. These young guys this year i.e. Dungey, Hill, RV, etc do not seem to be out of control at the pace as others have been trying to match or the ones who wouldnt even attempt to ride at that pace in previous years indoors. It seems the speed James brought as his signature has been almost duplicated over testing where out of control seems to be in control now. The racing will be better for it.

sorry unc... i retract the "RC thinks it's an insult" part, he probably doesn't and i shouldn't have said that.

I'm pegging Dungey as the next RC, or at least the closest thing possible. Just a little smoother.

Honestly , i think Ryan just hasn't found his groove just yet in SX. I think he is also not in the best of shape , body wise and mental wise right now. He WILL find his game , hopefully soon. And again.....outdoors......If i have money , it'll ALL be put down on him this coming season. Mark my words.

kinda hard to do that considering RD only has 1 outdoor title and RV has 3.... RV has had a bad race but is still running fast times ..He will get it together I garantee it.Smile

Dungey is more like Jeff Stanton than RC.

Why do all Alessi supporters feel the need to slam Ryan instead of just continuing "the hype". Mikey is a good rider, go ahead and talk him up. We'll see you at Hangtown.Cool

Would that mean that RD is the new RD? Or does the old RD think the new RD is the new RD, or does the new RD even want to be the old RD? You know what I mean?

i really think your post is very premature, the year has just started, we are only 3 rounds in, and if i recall, RC had a rough run at it in the beginning too, i think RV is ahead of the curve.

How is describing him as "badass" a slam?

I think utter dominatiuon is a hard thing to come by these days and it's only going to get worse for this class when a couple more of these guys move up, believe in themselves focus and come out prepared-

I thought Ryan would be better this year, He almost looks like he wasn't ready.

Maybe he has some health issues or something I don't know but he was struggling with Brayton back in 7th, that is not the RV style that won the MXoN a few years ago,

We are only 3 races into the season , and RV is getting picked on? James is losing the title , slowly but surely and his die hard cult will still follow him right off a cliff. RV ran well in PHX and hasn't been terrible the other two as well.

Also....you guys better "talk up" all your favorite riders now for the outdoors.....because they are going to need it to go up against Ryan. I'd like to say " wait and see" again.....but come GH , i won't need to.

The title will be won by the last man standing. We are just going to have to wait and see who that man is.

I wouldn't place any bets on who's going to win this years title.

He may end up in the right place at the right time.

Who knows?

I highly doubt we ever see a rider as dominant as Ricky Carmichael ever again.

I've always hated that analogy... dumb.

That said, from the TWMX video, the guy looks genuinely disgusted with himself for how he did Saturday. To me, this is as close to RC like as I would put RV... friggin pissed off he's not up near the front.

I like that...

Can't yet. RC found his stride after getting his butt kicked for 2 years. Might be the same with RV, only time will tell.

so...when he is 100% he will be winning these exhibitions with dungey and stewart?

the fact is rv was pegged the next reed/stewart killer and he hasn't done anything really. he was beat soundly by dungey at the phxsx and instead of battling up front the next week he floundered around upper midpack. this posty isn't about dungey either, take dungey out and he is getting beat by hill and tedesco and short and....

what is wrong uncle? is it an injury?

Why do we have to speculate and compare one rider to another? Can't we just wish the guy well and hope he pulls it all together and gets to the front where he belongs?

RV is the next RC isn't a bullshit analogy.

It's a bullshit metaphor.

I think RV will find his wheels once things go outside, daytona even maybe. The kid knows how to ride, I wouldn't count him out just yet. Bobby has proven time and time agin, he's a blathering idiot.
