I've noticed that some of the drivers are also in charge of the grill for the weekend.  Is that pretty normal?  ML...you're up.Wink

The truck drivers generally do all the food shopping and cooking for the weekend.

Wonder if any team drivers are known for their skill on the grill?  Like folks are always dropping by at dinner time...lol.

If they need some fluff during the broadcast...I'd watch that.

We need a Top Chef, Moto edition video asap. Winner gets a new Blackstone or Traeger grill. Laughing

I was surprised to see a few of them lined up at the blue beacon in Youngstown Ohio this past summer. Maybe they where really dirty. I,m sure they detailed the rigs after the wash. I,m sure it’s fun getting everything together to grill . And there’s a little competition for who,s the best griller.  Old school 70,s was a pot wired on top of the engine with meat, potatoes, etc. drive a few hrs then pull ovr with a few drivers & eat.  I wrapped meat & etc in tin foil & wired it on the top of the engine already.

We don't have 18 wheels, but we've beat people who do.

Good times. My trucks from the 2013-2016 seasons. You are definitely a glorified maid with a CDL though 🤣.

It could be worse. Like driving entertainers on a bus. I had a couple pals yrs ago trying to talk me into it. That job really sucks. I just talked to an entertainment bus driver wed. He said freight doesn’t talk back. Haha it’s not a glamorous job but looks like one. Did the factory rig pay anything?  I talked to a team yrs ago they tried to say you get a free bike but can’t ride a big deal. I passed.

Asterisk has gotten the most free marketing out of their mobile medical rig out of anything Ive ever seen. Alpinestars has taken over the role for what 7 years now? Yet everybody still calls it the asterisk medical unit. They still even make this mistake every year on the tv broadcast and you hear tons of riders still call it asterisk. Pretty crazy how well their branding worked.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t want to drive a bus for entertainers. I would get fired real quick because I wouldn’t put up with their crap.

yes, driving for the factory teams pay well. Only the factory teams. We had super Moto‘s on the truck all year long to ride to the hotels or wherever we wanted.  I honestly worked for the best guy in the business. If you have to work for somebody, Bobby Hewitt is as good as they get and I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor. Dave Gowland and Bobby taught me a lot and helped me transition from racing into the working world and I’m very thankful for my time together with them. If it wasn’t for them, I probably wouldn’t be where I’m at today.

Those were good times. The truck was always super clean and that whole team was fun to work with. Doing truck tours and meet and greets at each round was a blast.

1990-1-2? Jeff Glass at Millville out of this box van I met him and got stickers! Ha He was a great promotor for Surf just a really cool guy. Lots of box vans then and no special pit passes - great times.

Good for Kevin thats a sweet rig but damn that looks like it would be harder to turn/drive than an 18 wheeler.

I actually worked on a team with a similar rig, it was registered as an RV so we didnt need a CDL to drive it.

I’d guess that thing would be much easier to drive than a semi. Sure it’s more difficult than a pickup but that could go places a semi would never make it.
