Bobby has a point. They made the initial call, then overturned it once the appeal was filed and all the evidence was reviewed.

Isn't that good enough?

It's pretty sad when NASCAR is a bunch of rednecks and we make them look civil with our Pre-Madonna bitch fights, and dumbass shot callers. Maybe were the rednecks?

Maybe? Nascar has solid corporate sponsorship. Compare last place at a Nascar race with last place at a pro sx or national. You can call Nascar a bunch of rednecks, but they are laughing back all the way to the bank. As MX racers and supporters it's important to realize how small the overall mx market is and how unimportant it is to the overwhelming majority of people out there. With that in mind we should all be careful about the image we project. An occasional fight here and there isn't necessarily a bad thing. A grudge between rivals can be a great thing. This could all be marketed into something electric. Unfortunately, the powers that be, whoever they be, somehow take the beauty of live MX and SX and dull it down to where even fans want the volume turned off, and sometimes the TV. Better camera angles, helmet or bike cams and announcers that get excited, and can make that contagious (like when James Reed rode so well) would be nice. Instead we have a lifeless dull package from an organization or two that just can't shoot straight. Yes, maybe it's us after all.

The point is they rushed into a bonehead ruling. Yeah, they corrected it after an appeal was filed but it never should have gotten to that. How can you even make a ruling and hand out a major penalty and a fine without at least interviewing both parties involved?

It just makes them look inept .... which, unfortunately is what we've come to expect out of them.

AMA FIM all the same thing at SX.

Yea they made a judgment based on what they initially saw in the heat of the moment but after they had time to review it made the right decision and made it before leaving the stadium.

that is 1000% better than in the past.

Just think what the AMA and FIM people might think about all the crybaby rich punks who don't give a shit about rules or even know the rules.

The AMA and FIM should start fining guy's like NASCAR does for talking shit and quit letting the tail wag the dog.
yup...they had james and crew in their ear too....Smile

Who fucking cares if it is the FIM or the AMA...

The AMA should either tell the FIM to fuck off, or get the fuck out and let another incompetent body take control...

Two retards working on something is worse than one!!!!

it really stokes me how can the ama or fim or whatever act like that.........
being the ama championships the most mediatic in the world........
did anyone noticed that the onesided and impulsed penalty was against the top rider of the championship main sponsor....!!!!!!! and then they blame the economy....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was also surprised that nobody gave a fuck about stroupe jumping under yellow flags while there was riders on the floor being treated.......he saw them, dobled the triple twice, gained ground on everybody ....and nothing..............
but in mx last year there was penalties for championship contenders and even a new flag was invented.......
it is a really bad image for the sport.......

I understand what you are saying, but the penalty didn't stand, so wtf is the problem?

Move on.

500guy you hit the nail on the head - the tail is wagging the dog when it comes to the AMA. This applies to more than just this deal with Bubbles and Chadwick; look at how they cater to the whims of the manufacturers, which is another whole subject. If this sport is to ever be taken seriously by the non motorcycling public or "masses" the AMA needs to grow a pair and take charge and be the one wagging the tail instead of getting wagged by the tail. I know you guys here talk a lot of crap about NASCAR and a lot of it is deserved , especially since Brian France took over, but at least with NASCAR theres never been any doubt about who's running the show. I'm old enough to remember back in the mid to late 80's when Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Geoff Bodine weren't agreeing on exactly who was going to be Big Man On Campus and took the debate on to the track. Before it got out of hand and they maimed or killed one of the other competitors Bill France "suggested" Dale & Geoff come down to Daytona for dinner and a tete a' tete. During the discussion B. France made it clear to both parties that they needed NASCAR a hell of a lot more than NASCAR needed them and that if they wanted to continue to be involved in the sport they better get their shit straightened out off the track. At this time I believe Earnhardt had already won at least 1 if not 2 Cup titles. Both drivers got the message. The AMA needs to send the same message to BOTH Stewart & Reed. If these two know they can keep getting away with all of this BS, then when is it going to end? Ricky Johnson had the right perspective on this [Racer-X today]. They need to cut the BS because the rookie is making them look silly.

Chad needs to quit his bitching. Yeah, it was wrong for the stewards to fine him. But he wasn't looking out for anybody but himself when he was on the ground. Did he "punch" James as he was accused of? No. But don't let him bullshit you. He didn't have good intentions in mind when Jame was on top of him.

I think he's more upset at being sidelined than the fine, and venting on the race stewards.

All that being said, olds cool is 100% right IMO. They (James and Chad) are going to push this to the point of somebody, if not themselves getting injured if left unchecked.

You didn't listen to a word he said did you!?!?!

He was pissed that the governing people made the decision to basically take him out of the season before they had either talked to him or reviewed the footage or knew that he broke his hand!!!

Regardless of who got penalized and who didn't or whatever else you think of the AMA they do wonderful things for us outside of racing. I don't think they should be allowed to organize or sanction any racing event but let's not pretend like they are nothing but a horrible bunch of people with no good side okay.
