I just saw Coty's last two Instagram posts and seems him and Phoenix parted ways. Does anyone have any more insight? Seems like odd timing this close to SX.
If I remember correctly, after Phoenix didn't have the funds to do outdoors Shock stuck with the team presumably to continue SX with them, which seemed like a pretty big opportunity loss for Shock after his prior 450 outdoors showings. As a Delaware guy I'm pretty gutted to see him without a ride just before SX starts.
Ferrandis must be expensive
And yet they were wanting to help Jlaw kind of head scratching🤷♂️
Jlaw took safe when left?
I heard they didn’t pay him and gave him a semi full of Schock’s parts to liquidate to make up for it.

Allllright, now this all is starting to make sense...
I heard they asked Coty what his intentions were and he didn’t like it and left.
Someone is going to pick him up (sadly for him, most likely for very cheap,) and he's going to crush it.
I'm bummed that he missed out on the Nationals and SMX. He could have cleaned up in 2023.
Shocking
I wonder if Phoenix is freeing up money to fund an XC1 team next year as a few big name riders are available.
Man that sucks.
Coty comes across like a good solid dude, and he was going well the season before last, seemed like he was on the up.
Really hope he lands on his feet.
Hopefully....GNCC is the future. They get rider turnouts at every round that Moto can't rival except at the "Amateur Nationals"
The industry needs to wake the fuck up and start putting support in places where folks are actually spending money. 75% of Supercross attendees will never spend a dime in this industry....99% of GNCC attendees will.
Cody and JLaw started a team stamp it.
That was a very respectful message to a team that just dropped him. Solid guy. Hope he lands somewhere good.
Bummer
Clubmx?
Phoenix Honda sounds pretty cutthroat.
If it really is a money issue I'm completely fine with it..I'd rather pay a guy like DF14..don't get many chances as a non-factory team to sign a former MX champ.
Think he would be a great fit at ClubMX.
Pit Row
Rumor he signed signed with club Mx on twitter. Any truth to this? ML?
How many of them are buying...
That would be a great pick-up. Dude has some talent.
Cuttthroat or running a business and had to let someone go to build the Team they thought would perform the best? There is not a bottomless money pot at any team contrary to what some believe in here.
Oddly cut throat for a team with nothing but quad titles and a couple arenacross titles
I like what heath said on moto x pod about the situation.
And what is that for us who don’t listen.
He said it was incredibly hard for them to decide to let him go, but in the end it was the best overall business decision for the Team.
I only said cutthroat because they had let two people go within a short amount of time. Obviously I didn’t know the whole story. So who else besides me are you referring to that basically said Phoenix Honda is a bottomless pit of money. You seem pretty tuned in to them. Do you live in Phoenix or go by the shop regularly?
I was referring to all Teams in general. Every time a rider does well it turns into "Factory (insert team) should give them a bike" or "he should stay on the team because he did great and they can have four bikes" etc. Great example is Masterpool over the summer.
I am not "tuned into Phoenix Honda", but they are not located in Phoenix.
This is well worth a listen. He also sheds light on the Jlaw situation. Very impressed with how professional Heath is and how he handled all of that. We need more good people like this in our sport.
