Hey Folks,
Any suggestions for alternatives to Moose Racing Instant Detail Cleaner which was recently discontinued in Canada; maybe the US as well?
It was a Wet Foam Aerosol Spray Cleaner excellent at lifting dirt, grease, stains and water spots when used with a microfiber cloth. It didn't leave the greatest shine and sometimes could cause a bit of hazing but that was not a big deal as we would use SC1 as a second step to bring out the shine.
There seems to be a million Wash & Wax products out there but not many Aerosol Foam Cleaners. The problem with SC1 and the other Wash & Wax products we've used is they require a clean surface before applying or you'll wax right over top of stains/dirt which looks horrible.
Thinking of trying Motul E9 Wash and Wax or Plex-Rx UV Protectant Cleaner / Polish. What's everyone else using? Not looking for pressure washer / degreaser solutions.

When I worked in the service department at a dealership we used a product called plexus detailer that we would spray on areas where we would touch customers paint, plastic etc to remove our finger prints, oils, etc. it sounds really close to the moose product you are describing.
Adam's Detail spray is probably pretty close too. Added benefit that Adam's makes cleaners that smell so good SC1 gets jealous.
We have Plexus up here in Canada, just haven't used it because of cost. It's about $30 USD per 13oz. can from what I'm seeing. Here in Canada around $45 a 13oz can.
HONDA Spray Cleaner and Polish, works great
The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
Original Bike Spirits or plexus, hands down, the best two cleaners I've ever used. Finish up with a little SC1 for that extra touch or leave it as is.
I like the Adam's products, too. Maybe because they are a local company to me!
Seeing you are from Tillsonburg, I have to cut and paste this song in here! We sang this song the whole time we were there for the Can Am 50th anniversary for motorcycles this past August!

It might have something to do with some new Laws about stuff like that. Canada is requiring more paperwork to be filed to get approved to be sold if the product has a higher level of VOC's. Some people are saying that it will end up making some of the smaller brands go away because of the added expense involved in selling the product in Canada. So after January 1 2024 it goes into effect and that could be why Parts Canada is not selling that cleaner. Or maybe they will offer another one.
Some Moose products are co branded . Maybe You could find the same product under its own brand. They tend to co brand with higher end brands. They have Moose Arc levers, Moose Alpinestar tech 7's, Moose hammerhead products, and more. Sorry I was not much of a help. There is a guy on Youtube that made a video talking about it and he has info on the new Law on his channel. AvE is his name, and he makes videos of mostly taking tools apart to show how they work and the level of parts they are built with.
Lucas interior detailer works great and smells like bubblegum. Doesn't leave it too greasy either.
Check out Motorex's Quick Cleaner. I've been using it for 5+ years and love it. It works in line what you mentioned about the Moose Cleaner you were using.

First, that cleaner should be coming back at some point. Second, try the Moose Plastic cleaner. I think it works a little better than the detailer, then hit the bike with the silicone detailer (aka SC1) for that final shine. The plastic cleaner works on anything, even windows and any painted surface. It also won't gloss up stuff that shouldn't be glossy and it is an anti-static like plexus so it resists dust sticking to it.
Honda spray polish is better than the Moose stuff IMO. Shame it’s discontinued, used it a ton at the dealership. It was dirt cheap even retail compared to other products.
Lemon Pledge
Gave this a shot and it does a really good job! Good suggestion.
If you want to try a combination of the Motul MotoWash + Shine & Go, send me a DM and I will get you squared away.
Cheers
Got some on order, still on backorder up in Canada.
