I just came across this and was surprised I hadnt heard of it before. Apparently India just started its own supercross championship. I’m all about it, the more people that learn about the sport around the world the better. Hopefully this opens the door for a wsx race in India in the future and maybe even further down the line Indian riders coming over to race in the US.
Theres hundreds of millions of people who ride motorcycles in India so they could really bring a lot of eyes on to the sport. Plus due to India previously being a part of the British empire millions of Indians speak english. This could end up having a huge impact. Regardless of all that though its just really cool to see that things are starting to happen more around the world with mx/sx. Apparently the racing starts in October and runs until December.

Sweet. It of course looks a bit corny, but theyre literally starting at square one. Looking through some videos on youtube though they seem to actually have a pretty healthy riding scene with some riders that are pretty good even. Hopefully some day soon well even see an Indian team at MXON.
They have decent crowds. It shows there's interest in the sport and that it's growing.
I read an article a couple of days ago and they've sold a 5% stake to a private equity firm at a $42 million dollar (USD) valuation. They're presently looking for more funding.
The league is going to invest $18 million dollars (USD) over the next three years. The money is going to go towards motorsports infrastructure and grassroot development.
The series landed a title sponsor from a company called Ceat. They're a tire/tube manufacturer. Their stock is currently trading at over $2100.
Toyota Hilux is the official truck of the series.

Wonder what the purses are like. Seems like some riders from other countries could go there and clean up if worth it.
I definitely agree its pretty awesome to see. This got me interested in seeing what other countries have their own supercross series going on and I actually found a pretty legit supercross in Shenzhen China from this year.
Im impressed with the track, its even bigger than paris/geneva and the riders are ripping. They even have an over under bridge. Looks surprisingly legit.
I'm surprised China hasn't sent a team to the MXdN in recent years. They've only sent a team twice (2006, 2011).
India never sent a team, but we might see one in a few years.
Seeing MX/SX grow in other markets is great to see.
Honestly, I see opportunities for some privateers to open up riding schools in those countries once their career is over. If they're SX only, they could spend their summers there teaching for a few months, make money, and then come back and start training for the following year's SX season.
There's plenty of money in those countries.
I'd start learning Mandarin and/or Hindi.

This would be so fn cool. If we think the rivalries are big now imagine usa vs china or china vs india or australia vs china. If someone can inform their govts that theres another olympics event out there that thrives off nationalism maybe we could see them make a big push. China loves the olympics.
Damn that is interesting. I am pretty sure the guy leading 102 is Aussie Matt Moss, who's career in Aus MX was ended due to the doping charge. Both Moss brothers are fast and raced AMA SX at times.

How does the selection process work team wise? Sounds confusing.
India always seem game to have some fun with engines and wheels, however big or small, or fun or serious.
Benjamin Gerber has managed to scam them ... He never scored a point in a MX2 national championship and is barely top 10 regional. I have no clue how he ended up in the pool alongside some of the big french names ...
Aside from that, its amazing to see. India is biggest market for most 2 wheels OEM's and the investment is quite big for the new league launch. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
