We all want an MXdN with EVERYBODY on the gate, right?

I'll tell you what would be cool.

Have 3-4 races every summer that are points paying events to both MXGP and the U.S. Nationals. A couple here, a couple over there. Everybody has to show up if they want a championship. It doesn't add any race weekends to their schedules.

That would mean the top Euros would earn enough points to compete in SMX at the end of the year. On hybrid tracks, with no whoops, and all that purse money, I bet they'd come.

Add in the MXdN and we get like 7-8 races per year with ALL of the world's best competing.

So, it's okay with you that sometimes the US sends riders like Thomas Covington? Got it.

Yeah.....I don't really care.

We have 98% of the best racers in the world racing 30+ weekends a year in the premier series' in the world right here in the US of A, I don't need them to go to some 3rd world country in Europe to watch them race a bunch of dudes who want to race in America but aren't fast enough to get a ride here.

A partner round between Mx sports and Mxgp has been floated a couple times in the last few years. It would be cool but I’m not h holding my breath

First, if it was only two European stops, you know it would be premier venues, not some bullshit in Thailand.

Second,  are you really saying you wouldn't like to see multiple gate drops with Tomac, Gajser, Lawrence, Febre, Roczen, Webb, Prado, Sexton, Herrings, Renaux, etc.?

It's been discussed since I got on MT in 2000, and probably before.

Now that you mention it, I remember this discussion.

If this could somehow qualify the top Euros for SMX, the finals could be epic.

From DC in Racerhead:

"Finally, a big thank you to InFront Moto Racing and the FIM for their hospitality as well. I was able to have some great conversations with David Luongo as well as FIM President Jorge Viegas, but I’ll save all that for a different column."

There's not much to go on, but perhaps those talks included the AMA/MXGP Combo races.

You think MXGP makes up 2% of the world’s best riders?

Can you also let me have a list of the “third world” countries in Europe?

That wouldn't be cool though - that would be like when X games went from once a year - to multiple times a year

No, this wouldn't add races, only intrigue.

Imagine multiple outdoor races per year with ALL the top riders on the gate, then the possibility of all of them back for SMX.

Any true fan & racer would love to see this .

Trouble is some people have gone without so long they don’t know how to get their head around true competition.

People went way overboard with the bashing last year during the fiasco that was the broadcast package for MX Nationals. They even started attacking his family, I think his daughter?

It appeared the nail in the coffin was the bike claim saga, although it could be easily argued that MX Sports deserved the bad wrap they got from the handling of that fiasco.

There is no excuse for the personal attacks that DC had to endure from the trolls.....many of them because they lacked the general understanding of how the internet works.....
