I am going to have to go with part-timer John Dowd. Why? Well us old guys have to stick together and you gotta admit, Southwick last year was awesome.

For my full-timer it would have to be Blake Wharton. He is fast and smooth and cool as a cucumber under pressure.
Gotta go with Dowd also. He's been my favorite for ages. And still not fully retired, so he still counts as a current rider. Southwick last year was GRRRREEEEEEAAAAATTTTTT !!!!

Ashley Fiolek - anyone who can overcome the obstacles she has and excel at MX gets my support.

I like things about most riders.
Mike Alessi gets the top spot. He has dealt with the most adversity of any rider out there. Could anyone survive the post Tedesco incident (HATE) that was preceded by Millville. And the double secret probation. So far he’s survived Tony. He has had a very hard time as a pro but still improves.
How can you not like him?

My favorite rider right now is RV2. For a few different reasons. #1 he's local up here in the NW and I've been watching him race since 60cc's.. #2 He's an outdoor specialist. Always been a wayyyyyy bigger fan of outdoor mx over sx.. Real men excel outdoors. #3 He's represented are country at MXdN every chance he's gotten with a smile on his face and put forth superman like efforts even though there's no $$$ involved every time he's lined up in the red, white and blue. The kids a beast on a bike. Period!!

I know you said only current riders but my all time favorite is Johnny O. Watched that guy come up from day 1 at Indian Dunes and as a kid he was my idol. He had the flash, the style and the skill and speed to back it up. Every time I think back to the Oshow I picture the white Mugen ,the white JT gear (w/the white gators of course) and the huge N1 on his # plate and get an ear to ear smile to this day.

Close 2nd to Johnny is Donnie (Holeshot) Hansen. The guy was poetry in motion on a bike. Nobody was or is smoother on a bike than Donnie was and like Johnny O I got to watch him come up as well at Indian Dunes.

Magoo. No need to say why; everyone should know.

Steve Lamson. One of the nicest guys period and multi 125 champ. Family are equally great people.

Josh Hill. Young, lots of upside to improve if he can just get a start. Also real nice guy as well.

I know the answer is for only one rider, but I have done three. Yeah, yeah, yeah, stfu noob etc etc

U.S.A: Stewart - he is re-defining the sport of supercross/motocross

Aus: Reed - love his riding style, tenacity and attitude. The work that he is doing in Australia to develop supercross is inspiring

Europe: Everts - so effortless, he was in a league of his own.

Ashley Fiolek, because she's overcome so many challenges and may be the first woman to qualify for a national at the rate she's going.

My favorite mens racer? Love J-law's attitude.. love Windham & Ferry's longevity.. Vuillemin is also one of my faves. No better goon rider than le Cobra!

Kevin Windham because he is STILL racing after 16 pro seasons. MANY greats have came and gone, but he is still on the podium.

I favor many riders for various reaasons tho.

mmm My favorite rider is of course My brother, Robbie Reynard. I have known him ....well since the day he was born...Watched him race since his 1st lap with training wheels. I have seen him have the joys of Victory and the tears of defeat and pain. He has been broken and he has overcome things that most could never imagine. He is an inspiration to me everyday! His attitude towards the sport is still one of love and fun. How many can say that after 29 yrs of racing and 16 (almost 17) yrs as a professional in anything??? When he was an amatuer I could literally spend hours watching him practice...his style is one of beauty. Even now I just enjoy watching him ride!!!

My other favorite riders are Trey Canard...cause he is an amazing person on and off the track. he is a very hard and disciplined rider and has a good head on his shoulders and he is funny as all get out!
I also like Travis Pastrana....he is one rider who is like no other...I have seen him just dislocate his shoulder and still stand and sign a field of autographs. He has an amazing personality and is honestly one of the most down to earth guys I know...

John Dowd, cuz he makes all the kids look silly once a year.

As far as the new breed, I like Blake Wharton's style. He reminds me of Marty Tripes when he was in his prime.

I like James Stewart because he hangs it out and has a lot of class as an individual.

I like Jason Lawrence for his raw talent. I hope he can tone down the off-track antics without losing his uniqueness!

I pondered for many milliseconds on this question until my wife hit me in the chest
and said I better put our nephew. Go RV2 at Phoenix.

KDub... His riding is artistry in motion, but I really respect him for being true to himself.
Remember "Where's Windam?" at the end of 2002? I don't know the contract details, but I'm sure the guy walked away from a shitpot of money. He could have come back, rode around mid-pack, and collected a big fat check from Suzuki. His head and his heart weren't in it, and the money didn't matter. Ever notice that in every picture since 2003 KDub has a big smile on his face? The guy knows who he is, he's got his priorities straight and he's racing for the right reasons. You've got to respect him for that.

Nah, just that BL and R-ectum do enough PR for James, he doesn't need any other fans... Wink
