I'm looking at getting a new truck and I don't ride a whole lot anymore so I'm thinking of getting a tonneau cover for the first time. Does anyone have insight if soft tri fold covers interfere with being able to put a dirt bike wheel against the front wall of the bed?  Or do you have to just go with a soft cover that rolls up? Thanks!

I always went with the roll-up types as the tri-fold will not let you strap the bike to the front of the bed without removing the entire thing.

I have a Bakflip and when I haul my bike I put a block of wood between my tire and the back of the cab. It acts like a spacer and keeps the tire from hitting the bed cover when its folded up.

I just ordered the Bakflip MX4 tri-fold for my Raptor. I saw a guy on a Raptor forum was able to fit his bike sideways and close the tailgate. I'll post a pic when I get it.

I had the Rough Country retractable cover on my '21 Denali 1500 and I could not get my tailgate closed with my bike - the bike was about 2 inches too long. The cover came in and out in about 5 minutes so I would pull it out pretty frequently.

I've got a soft tri fold that I remove when I go riding. Literally takes less than a minute to get on/off. I'm due for a new one and have been looking at soft roll ups but haven't   found one I like. Love the BAK hard roll up, but they are spendy.

I have a Ram 2500 and also have the BakFlip MX4. I bought one of those extendable bars from Amazon that you use to hold cargo in place, and have it tight under the cover to put my front wheel against. It fits at an angle and the tailgate closes with some room to spare.

Truxedo x15

I had a Truxedo Low pro roll up on an f150 and it was great.  Then Truxedo X15 roll up on my ram 1500 the last 7 years and it's been outstanding and I just bought the sam for a new to me Nissan Titan xd.

Rolls up in seconds and you can load your bikes. If necessary the front rail and cover come off in under a minute of you want to remove the whole thing.  I never do and ride a bunch. It is a really great cover.

On the ram 1500 after 7 years the Velcro lost some of its stick and Truxedo honored their life time warranty. In 3 days I had a new cover and Velcro very good service.

That’s the one I’ve been wanting but can’t bring myself to spend the money. Lol. Do you have to put a block in front of the front tire to clear the rolled up cover?

Cheap Amazon one tri fold for a couple hundred dollars is key. Comes off super quick and super light.

I would recommend one that rolls up or that you remove for when you want to haul your dirt bike.

I got a $150-200 cover on Amazon and have had it for 2.5 years now with no issues.

I'd look at doing one of the Flex covers from Undercover. They offer the Ultra Flex, Armor Flex, or just original flex. I have the Armor Flex on my current truck, and had the Ultra Flex before. It folds up to the cab when not in use and as long as your wheel is in the corner you'll be fine. I did find that I would remove it when hauling two bikes just because two bikes being tied down to it I noticedi t would move just a touch on the cab. Wasn't a huge deal but I felt better with it off. They come off super easy though with two hand screws, and don't need any help to take it off. That's my old truck with the Ultra Flex below.

If you ever plan on using your truck bed for anything that's taller than the bed rails...then NEVER buy anything other than a soft roll tonneau cover. Access Lorado covers have some of the best quality/price out there. Rolls up far enough to put your front wheel against the header panel of the bed without interfering with the cover.

No, but I was in college before I realized that okra wasn't "okrie".

Not really me, but a boss told me that.

I had a Soft Tri Fold that I got the spring loaded pulls that come on the rear and put a set on the front so I didn't have to fool with laying in the bed and cranking down the front screws. It made it super easy to take off and put back on.

The shit I use to see like this when I was out in Arizona for some years was amazing, some of its stupid as hell but some of it was pretty damn good. An entire 2009 f150 truck bed with a second bed cut out and seamlessly put over the first beds with a perfect 1.8 inch all the way around to hide 60 lbs of coke. Radiator hose leak 2 miles past the boarder got them caught.
