Yes the whole pick out of a hat thing is ridiculous. I might feel a little more hard done by as Canada got the LAST fucking gate at 37.  With all the money and trouble to do this race there out to be a more fair way to EARN a gate pick at arguably the biggest race of the year.

Jett and Vlaanderen are the only ones that are moving up. Hard to pass but they're making it work 

For me it's easy. You get the pick where you finished last year. Canada should have pick 15 this year because they finished 15th at Red Bud. If you didn't race the year before, you get to pick after everyone that showed up the year before.
