MX Des Nations Predictions

I predict France gets top five gate pick lottery and USA out of top 10. Not that it’s rigged at all.

last year France was 30th Sideways

Go do some video hunting of the track, as with your comparison, I have to think you've never seen racing at  Ernee.

I may have seen some previous MXdN footage from there but otherwise I know nothing about it.

What would the closest US track be to Ernee in terms of riding surface?

Any update on Hunter’s fitness?  I’m assuming if he was definitely out we would have heard by now.

As far as national tracks go, I suppose Thunder Valley in terms of dirt and elevation change (though the hills at Ernee seem quite a bit steeper).  Unadilla is kind of similar too

Thunder Valley gets really rutty in many areas…. I’d say Unadilla is the closest surface.

Just think if they had an MXdN at one of the Chalk surface tracks in France!

You know, the Fearfully steep, Up and Down ones that were literally on near polished white chalk.

Yikes to that, but it would be something.

At times I'd welcome almost any surface other than the tilled  and disc'd up, 'rut city' surfaces that seem so prevalent now.

I'm not sure - does Beaucaire (sp?) still exist? I first went there decades ago (Trampas Parker era) and that was a doozy - not a full Chalk surface like I described in the first sentence, but it had some truly 'berko' jumps.

I may have it wrong, but I think Robgvx here has  some good stories from Beaucaire(sp?, again), one featuring a bit of lunacy regards  a Jump that he indulged in?.

I think Beaucaire also hosted that early season International, that, if you won it, seemed to be the kiss of death for your World Championship aspirations  for many years - but, I might have that mixed up with another French track starting with 'B'. The past is becoming ever more 'fuzzy' to me.

Bummer for Guada, but Bonacorsi is a good replacement.

Italy is looking pretty good  for riders coming through  - well, they have / are already.

I get the hype with Roczen lining up again, but how long has it been since he raced outdoors? A year? So I'm not sure about "he's a shoe-in for some top 5s". The big star of Team Germany is Längenfelder, obviously.

Qualified straight to A-final (in random order): USA, France, Australia, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Latvia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Canada, South Africa, Estonia, Slovenia, Czech Republic.

Winner B-final: Austria.

He’ll be fine.

He did get 2nd overall, the kickstart didn't slow him any, I saw a 250 KTM cranking longer than it took Ken to get started.

I don't know what race you've watched, but kicking his bike took him over a minute. He was in 2nd a couple seconds behind Jett and then dropped to 7th while kicking and finished the moto +1:25 min behind Jett. Got 2nd overall but with a 7-2.

Hard to see past France and Australia.  Hope everyone on every team has a clean event, should be terrific on a proper MX track.

I think this year Canada could surprise some people. As a Canadian, though I am a little biased. All three guys this year are truly our best riders to send and all three have MXDN experience already.

Wright has GP experience and is easily a top 10 guy in the US now.

Pettis finished inside top 10 in moto1 of the last round of the US outdoors, and probably should’ve finished inside the top 10 in the second Moto also , but ran into some problems.

McNabb, being the youngest out of the three is definitely a solid performer, and seems to have gelled quite well with his new factory KTM ride.

Also, bearing note is management has reverted back to Courtney Lloyd, and most people would agree,This is for the better. Hopefully she’s not handcuffed by the CMA any longer also.

Should be exciting to watch.

The French team looks strong on paper. Febre and Vialle are no brainers but Renaux is a big question mark. The places for the last two MXGP rounds are 33-18-12-0-0. Doesn't look good at all to me

My bad, I thought the 7th dropped him back on the overall.

And yes the kickstart clearly lost him time - lapse I think it took him over a minute to start the bike.

He skipped Matterly Sunday after crashing on Saturday and Maggiora was a mudder. The week before he went 3-2. He's maybe not as good as last year or earlier this year but I think he'll be fine. Although Ferrandis might have been the better choice after all.

Jett won’t.  Hunter should be good for a couple of top ten finishes if he’s fit.  Ferris is the biggest unknown.  We just need one good moto from him.

France are the clear favourites for me, they would be favourites no matter where the race was held with the team they have so the fact that it’s at Ernee makes them heavy favourite.

I had Australia just behind them but Hunter’s injury throws that up in the air a little bit.

Behind them there are a bunch of teams in podium contention, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, USA, Spain and Italy all could find their way on the box. It could be one of the best Nations we’ve seen.

I’ll go:

1. France

2. Germany

3. Netherlands

4. Australia

5. USA

I just checked to see how much it was to watch.

£32. £32 for 1 race.

I don't know about predictions but jesus. How can they justify that?!

I think alot of people are underestimating how good our team actually is this year. I definitely see some surprises from them. Everyone needs to remember to that Ryder is racing in America next year too

I would say washougal as most of the time it is hard pack and relatively slick. There will be some ruts but it is usually not deep unless it is biblical.
