How the Fook are they calculating points as they run during the first motos? As if it’s motocross scoring, when they’re doing Olympic scoring...
this whole series is an abomination.
I'm wondering about that, too. No points are yet awarded.... how can Jordon Smith be 3 points behind Shimoda?
This whole series is not an abomination, but the points as they run is pointless during moto 1.
I literally just texted a friend of mine and said how much this bothers me.
It's calculated based on if the Moto 1 results were the overall.

Does the tie breaker always go to the second moto finish? Or can it go to the higher finish overall?
Let's say:
Jett goes 1-3
Ken goes 2-2
Does Ken get the tie breaker for the second moto, or does Jett get it for the highest finish?
I think its always the second moto finish. But in my head a 1-3 feels like the more deserving result because of the win.
Although if the results finished that way, Chase probably has a 3-1 and definitely takes the overall and championship.
They’re just bench racing based off first motos. Don’t sweat the small things.

I fully understand why they say it, and have from the beginning, but it’s incredibly inaccurate. Example? Smith was never once 3 points back in the standings.
Agreed it was stupid. Running two motos but not paying points for both did not work for several reasons. Tonight we were never told about overall as they ran, had no clue what passes meant for overall or even the championship..... just championship as they run which was totally pointless in the first moto. Second 250 moto with Cooper between Deegan and shimoda and not a word ever said about implications of Cooper gaining or losing a position.
The great thing about the Olympic scoring is that you don’t know who’s going win until the second moto is done.
Kenny, Jett and Chase all had to go for the win to secure the overall.
That's not true. Jett had overall riding around in second and he knew it.
No he didn’t. Only if Chase was front. If Kenny was first and Jett second he would have lost the overall to Kenny via better moto 2 score.
We really doing this......? Chase was in front. Jett was in second knowing he had the overall and championship locked up in that position. He was not going after first place. Your original statement is not true......
Sure. But after Chase crashed out he had to go for the win with Ken behind him.
What I was really trying to say is that before the start of the second moto all three had to aim for winning to lock up victory.
Yeah but that's always the case with Olympic scoring. Same for mxdn. The current standings are never accurate until you know which result gets dropped.
The first moto counts. So after Moto 1 Smith was in the lead for this weekend. Thus at the moment scoring 75 points if things stay like this after Moto 2. It's confusing but there's no other way to run scenarios
