Overcoming that fear is part of the adrenaline rush that makes you want to go higher, farther and faster. Good job!!

Good job dude!! If it's not scary, then it's no fun..
Next time you go there you'll hit it like nothing. You already got over the hard part.
Just so you know, for me it's harder to piggy-back like that. Speed means almost nothing. It's the throttle in the face that gets you over it. If you do it yourself, your body should take over the rest. This is just me though. Every one hits jumps different. I would also rather hit a 100' triple out of a corner than come at it straight with a mile to hit it. My timing is better with throttle not speed.

I jumped a 60 foot jump back in 1980 that is about a far as any sane person wants to jump!

I gotta say, I'm usually one of the folks giving you a hard time Devin but that took some balls.

Bet it felt great the first time you hit that landing just right.
Have fun dude.

i came up way short my first time. something about going from dirt to metal always bugs me about them too. i don't mind so much anymore, but i definitely prefer dirt. that looks like a pretty fun place though.

That is really cool. That looks like a fun place to have. It was always funny to me that the average joe relates motocross to the ramps and tricks of freestyle. The whole " You race dirtbikes? So you do all those tricks off those steel ramps." I used to explain the difference but just gave up and say oh yea all the time. I have a ton of respect for those guys but you know what I am saying. I was able to hit the ramp that a private owner was practicing on at Seminole and it was intimidating. It even had the roll out runway that was odd enough like riding across a parking lot. No practice jump just go for it the first time. Landed perfect the first two times and said OK done, now i can say "oh yea I do that all the time" lol well i get back to my pit and my friend says he has 1 more shot on his disposable. (Pre camera phone) So i go one more time and almost over shoot the landing only hitting the very end of transition. Scarry moment. It was huge. The ramp was just out of picture and landing was sharp drop on smooth looking road closest to us, landing right out of pic. Crappy pic.

First off, I absolutely love the thread title.
Second, I would never in a million years attempt a ramp like that, (no matter my age).
That height / distance to a pro free rider is nothing. But I for one, am extremely impressed in your guts / skills. My hat goes off to you guys. That must feel so awesome to jump like that, something I'll never experience, except maybe in my dreams?
Enjoy your skillful art of going huge and be safe!

My brother was a little timid about hitting it, then Justin called it the little red riding ramp!
i thought about doing it just to show up my older brother! (what little brother doesnt love that!)
hannah said 'whats the worst that can happen? you can die! and get it on tape, epic!" .... so i did like 2-3 dry runs and wimped out, then finally went for it.
first time i jumped it was when i cased it hard! lol, i cased it like two more times then finally got it! then i was done with that!
i jumped it, you want me to do it again? no thank you.

You hit a ramp once, you can hit the same ramp 1,000 times.

Boy that looks like fun.

The jump itself isn't bad but the metal ramp definitely puts a little fear in me.
