Well, here's an update on the state of WSX:

SX Global, the promoters of the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), confirmed today the sale of its business, to an investment group led by tenured sports investors Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Juan Sartori. The pair join SX Global’s CEO Adam Bailey to form the new ownership and leadership group.

Good for them! Hopefully they will change direction and try to incorporate their series during the off season and partner with the promoters doing it right during that time.

Kyril is the son of Robert, ex-Adidas CEO and Olympique Marseille soccer team. Sartori (who tried to become Prez of Uruguay) and him went to same schools in Switzerland, Sartori's wife (Russian oligarch daughter) also owns the AS Monaco soccer team.
Going to be very interesting what they do with SX. A race in Sunderland and a race in Monaco?

No, they sold it.
Yes, the original investment group backed out. So new investors were brought in and they've bought in (not sure if the old investment group had ownership in the series or not).
Hoping for the best for the series, but admittedly skeptical with this group.

Can see a Webb or Tomac wild card if they hold another WSX this year.
Hopefully they will create demand for talent that will put more money in the riders' pockets in all series.
Wonder if they could schedule their races to pull in some of the MXGP field? That would be very cool.

Wasn't the wild card rider meant to be a rider from whatever country they are currently racing in that isn't racing all the other rounds?
No idea, but I remember Tomac was a wild card in the first one last year and seemed to enjoy himself. Webb also said he wants to race it.
I know they did that to bring in bigger names of the sport but they are still advertising it as local riders for the wild card spots.
