I know this can be a hot topic.Has anyone done a dyno run with 100ll against pump gas and a race fuel in a current 4 stroke stock Motocross bike?I know so many people have their theories on this but has anyone actually done a back to back dyno?
We always mixed it 50/50 with pump gas and found it helped with 2 strokes , more for less detonation ,
never got any gains in modern four strokes
I like that it’s a good consistent product with no ethanol or water for the most part but as above I run it in a 2 stroke and it does ping without it. I run 50/50 with E free 90 pump
It's great, no ethanol, doesn't get gummy, price is similar to pump gas. Some airports require you to show a PPL to purchase. Luckily I have one.
I'm the same.

Av gas is from what i understand the base for all Race fuels … i’m sure Petro Engineer will pop in here and explain.
Here you had to prove it was for off road use, so a competition licence was good enough
Agreed on the 2 stroke detonation.Would it be safe to say the octane rating would be a safer bet than buying a higher octane fuel from a pump?
Not an expert by any means but a couple guys ran AV gas where I am from, this AV gas had lead in it. I tore down 2 engines that were running it for a couple months there was a wired grey residue on all the valves and the piston it was pretty thick on the piston. Had to use a scraper to remove it not sure any harm was done but it made me remember in our old cars they would run and ping after you turned them off - I think it was the lead deposits still burning. We quit using the AV gas.
This is a good read"

Here we go again.
AV gas has far more alcohol in it so it doesn't freeze at altitude. Rec fuel with zero alcohol/ethanol is far better.
love me some 100LL
We made it this far without someone posting about how awesome it makes their weedwacker and lawn mower run?
So with mixing the fuels pump/race gas or avgas is a guess at best. Fuels are designed at a certain octane so if you mix them is it a good idea? Basically your changing the octane ratings from which they weren’t designed as and I’m certain they weren’t designed to be mixed with other fuel. I’m probably way off but just a thought.
My weedwacker and lawnmower run awesome on 100ll, who cares what the lead does to the neighbors kids.
Dude, no.
this ^^^
Gasoline, lead and dye...
I doubt you will ever see a factory race team run av gas!!
Even reputable car engine builder's tell people not to use av gas
I've been using Sunoco 110 leaded very successfully 2 & 4 stroke since 1986
all anyone has to do is take equally maintained bike running each fuel upon teardown you will want race fuel in your daily driver
Pit Row
Absolutely wrong information.
Do whatever you want. IDK. I don't see race teams using it...only ppl thinking they found something no has ever thought of doing before.
