I think the reason it's "underrated" is because of the in-person spectator aspect isn't tyhat great. This track (if it isn't a mudder) always produces great racing. James was onto something when he mentioned how wide every section of the track is. Absolutely one of the best tracks on our circuit.

I've been to a lot of tracks and I really think Ironman is great for a spectator. There's plenty of shade and they provide adequate bathrooms, food and drink vendors every single year. Some tracks have really struggled to spend the extra $$$ to get the necessary concessions and bathrooms to meet the demand. Ironman also allows you to bring in any food, beer and water you want. Just pack it right in while other tracks have rules to make you buy concessions.

Oh, I agree 100% on that! I guess I meant the viewing aspect isn't that great if you want to see multiple sections. The facility itself is one of the best for amenities.

It could also be overlooked because it's always at the tail end of the season as mentioned earlier. I'm not shitting on the track at all, just trying to point out areas why it might not be getting the hype it deserves. Pala has to be the worst track for a spectator I have personally been to from every aspect; parking/entry/exit, viewing, atmosphere, shade, amenities, etc.

Am I the only one who thinks Ironman is top 3 for outdoor tracks? I wish they could find a way to make it a more prevalent race because it is too good to be lost when titles are basically decided. Obviously schedule changed this year etc. just hoping in the future it can find a new time slot.

I totally agree.  It’s always been one of my favorite tracks.   So fun to watch.  The jumps are awesome and it’s fast.  Spring creek also up there.

Amen. It is a pity, live 20 mins from Pala and agree it is the absolute worst venue ever in MX. Miserable.

The track is great.  Most of the riders talk about how they enjoy riding there.

Being so late on the schedule I think hurts it.

Hopefully MXON one day.

I've been to evey Ironman except one. I think the best layout was the first year.

It has it pluses. Easy to get in and out. Never any big traffic jams. Good food. You can take in your own food. You can find shade. Good bathrooms. A PA you can actually hear and understand.

I do find it hard to move around to see different areas. I understand why they they put down all that asphalt, but it takes away some of the outdoor feel and esthetics of the property.

The racing this year was pretty damn good. Shimoda looked fast. Second 450 moto, Jett and Sexton were on it. Danger Boy sends it.
