What did you get out of it?  Mine…

Watching 250 press conference I couldn’t help but think this is likely Hunter’s only year with championships.  Despite the attempts during supercross to amp up the Hunter vs Jett stats…does anybody think Hunter can take a championship over Jett and other riders?

Watching 450s I felt bad for Dylan.  Clearly he is at least the third fastest outdoor rider in the series and no ride next year.  That seams dumb as hell to me.  There are what… 14 factory 450 rides next year?  That’s just stupid.  If GasGas were smart they would add a second 450 and get their bike on the podium more.  I hope he takes at least one moto tomorrow.

I think Hunter can hang with Jett on some days and will certainly be in the mix. Although I think Dylan should have a ride, his issues with bike setup is probably in the back of some teams’ minds. Being 29 years old and heading into the back end if his career while also having to learn a completely new bike are most likely being factored in here. His agent has set his price too high for where he is at in his career and for the rides that are currently available. I don’t agree with what’s happening but another option for Dylan to consider is joining Triumph, help them develop the 450 alongside Savatgy in 2024 and come back racing in 2025. Given his age and where he is currently at performance wise, he will probably view that as a step back in his career but I sincerely hope he doesn’t retire. Such a nice dude who is very outspoken, brutally honest and a hard worker.

Webbs a 2x sx champion against tomac but never had tomac speed. Dungey multiple titles against tomac. Raw speed doesn't always win championship. I'm sure jetts gonna win a lot but it's not like he's gonna win every championship for the next 10 years straight.

Yes but that’s not how Ferrandis races. His championships were won with speed, not consistency. His lackluster starts and poor supercross results since switching to 450 are also something that I’m sure teams are factoring into what they’re offering him. If he can swallow his pride a bit and take a smaller paycheck, he will end up somewhere. I do have to give him a nod for sticking up for himself and knowing his worth even if the factory teams don’t agree. Just really poor timing for Dylan at the moment.

Yea…not sure what Webbs contract is(and too lazy to look) but Webb and Eli SX and mirror Dylan with an MX contract.  That would leave Eli to say….yea…ok…mx for smx

…and hopefully Justin proves he deserves the gift he was given…

Would agree with you on adding a second GasGas 450 and giving Dylan the spot, but then again it's not my money to spend. Still kind of crazy to think that between 3 Austrian manufacturers, there was only (1) factory 450 in the field for nearly all of the premier outdoor motocross series.

Do you think he would stay if he was given a fair offer? I have no idea what fair would be, I’m just speaking in hypotheticals.

He doesn't want to be there and has trashed the bike all year.  I want the riders to be honest 100%, but he is the rider and has arguably one of the best teams behind him....meaning he has to be able to communicate what he wants with regards to changes.

My point was if you do SX only contracts then balance the team with maybe an MX only contract.  Dylan would be the poster child for MX only contract.

I’m willing to bet he would rather have a MX only factory contract then no contract….but I could be wrong.

I’m calling bullshit on this comment as it is an overstatement.  He hasn’t “trashed” the bike.  He has made comments very similar to other riders, not leading the championship, on searching and searching for good settings. Then Vital keyboard warriors keep upping the exaggeration of comments.  Did he make some about the bike.  Sure.  So did Chase, AP, AC, Jason, and every rider to some extent…and don’t get me started on Cooper Webb.  He was so bad KTM ended the contract early…sure…mutual…..you know…  DF is doing it in a second language to him which makes it easier to come across different than meant.  I speak French and while living in France I had similar challenges at times.

Your opinion.....almost every interview he blamed the bike for his less than standard performance until Unadilla where he did give the bike some credit.  Go listen to interviews from the first 9 rounds regardless of whether he was on the podium

I did go back and listen…that is why I made the post.  Chase made many similar comments.  I say Chase because it was usually those three in post race interview but pretty much everybody makes them.  Show me the clip of DF trashing the bike.  Normal setup search type comments. It is a normal thing for pretty much any rider that didn’t win.  The French to English make it harder.

Chase has been blaming the bike for two years, so agree with that.  Also his teammate working him on the same bike doesn't give a lot of credit there either.  Same resources

Yeah, Dylan is cool.  His problem has been not getting the results in supercross.  The metric teams take most into account is supercross performance.

He also says that Jett is the 'best rider in the world'.

Yeah, he hasn't trashed the bike all year.  He was honest that it wasn't up to scratch earlier in the season but of late has said it is much better. Dylan doesn't bullshit, that much should be clear.

Jett has been careful to point out the abilities of his competitors during the year and claiming they've challenged him at times.  I always thought this was done in order to avoid accusations of arrogance rather than because he actually believed it.  It's clear from this press conference that he's moved to saying very clearly - albeit in a respectful way - that none of his competitors have anything for him, including Sexton.

I've said it multiple times. This was a great year for Hunter but the championships end here.

The comment is referring to hunter not dylan

I've said it multiple times. This was a great year for Hunter but the championships end here.

We shall see….

If anyone is to beat Jett, maybe it’s someone with inside knowledge who rides with him every day? Either way it’s certainly going to an interesting dynamic, the like of which we’ve never seen before.
