OMG run for your lives ! 2 tenths of an inch of rain and 9 mph winds ! Save yourselves !  It either stalled, changed course or fizzled  We’ll know in a few more hours I guess. The forecasters missed something....  Must be nice to have a job where everyone expects you to be wrong, and you never disappoint lol

A veteran of many hurricanes, tropic storms, depressions, and the associated winds, and rains along the gulf coast.

None were to be taken lightly. 

And I hope the colder waters of the Pacific, drain that storm of its punch.

But weather forecasters never miss a chance to spread their fearmongering, and histrionics. 

The weather channel idiots are downright laughable, as they've been busted standing waist deep in roadside ditches making ankle deep water look tragic, 

And leaning into winds at 45° angles, while locals saunter by in the background.

They've got people here in a total panic with headlines like "CA WARNING: ‘CATASTROPHIC AND LIFE-THREATENING FLOODING"    They've created a run at the local grocery stores.   

Gov Gruesome declares "Emergency".     Which means we'll probably have to start wearing masks again.  What a raging idiot.

It's been downgraded to CAT 1.   Light rain this morning, no wind.

Life on the east coast has shown me that hurricanes do not always behave exactly as forecast, and sometimes they pull a last minute veer to miss or could pull a last minute veer to hit. Which leads me to not making light of a miss. There are those that it isn't missing, and there will likely be a next time.

Looks like there are raging flood waters in places, and maybe also loss of life?

There is no bullit train coming to save us from climate. We spent all the money EV subsidies and equity officers. There is no escape. I got the last 3 rolls of toilet paper at the store last night. We're gonna duct tape the windows, put on our masks and try and ride it out.

Considering that the rain amounts that Cali got this past winter caused major flooding and the cancellation of a Supercross event I think I would be glad that they were wrong but not spend a lot of time mocking them.

If they don't warn you about a worst case scenario you can end up with a tragic event like what we are seeing in Maui. 

Then, like there, everybody is asking why didn't they do this or do that?

I feel no urge to jump on the bandwagon and make fun of Newsome or any of the others out there that deserve it for so many other reasons.

Back in San Clemente, it’s dumping pretty good, dog park and las Ramblas are gonna be pretty snotty for a week or so. Laguna could be good, Sano’s is always good after a rain, kind of boring but it’s sandstone. Good way to get some exercise 

Great, now we just had a 5.5 earthquake 20 miles away. My phone is going off with alerts. They say duct cover and hold on! Isn't that the same thing we did in the 60s for the atomic bombs?

I don't know I panicked and did everything, duct,cover and hold on, drop and roll, duct dodge dive.

I shouldn't make fun. I'm actually scared of earthquakes and was about 30 miles from the Northridge quake and we took some real damage. And lived near Pamona on the big quake about 1970, 71. 

I actually enjoy earthquakes.  They're kinda fun.  Unless they get too gnarly.

My girlfriend (now wife) and I were 12 miles from the Northridge epicenter in 94.   That was a life experience.  It wasn't a roller like most are...this motion was up and down.    We were in a 3 story townhouse and NOTHING was left standing in any of the rooms.  The main wall between units had a 6 in gap in it.       The craziest thing about it was the sound....and after, the absolute dead silence.   

Still pretty light rain out in East San Diego...no wind.

Yeah the sound, I thought for sure the house was coming down it felt like a giant picked the house up and started slamming it into the ground. I was in Moorpark, I got out the front door and could see the ridge at the Santa Suzana pass at east end of Simi. I saw about three transformers explode on the ridge line and watched all the lights from San Fernando Valley go dark, then light up the sky again,then go dark. With all the noise from houses shaking and stuff. It felt like real  armageddon shit. Our house was thrashed but no structural damage. My parents house in Thousand Oaks was bad including structural even though it was further away.

I was riding my old MT250 home from Travis AFB one day...the rear started shaking like a flat.  Checked it...all good.  Got home and dog is freaking out and wife is worse.  I'm an Okie...tornados...no problem... earthquake...keep it.

I don’t know man I think I’d rather have my shit rattled once in awhile vs getting power washed into oblivion.  But I get it, a freaking out wife is no joke lol 

Well, we've always had a 'fraidy hole to escape to if a twister got real close.  

We had been across that big ass bridge that collapsed many times.  That scared me.

Sir, your wiper blades are not a real emergency. Oregon could get 3-5 inches of rain!!!! Imagine how weird it would be if they harnessed this same fear of a nothing burger and used it to totally wreck the economy, that would be wild. 

This article is comical, as they talk about school cancellations for a rain storm, and other things that happen every day as if the sky is falling. 

"We are talking about bona fide tropical storm conditions," Sojda told USA TODAY. "We're expecting 4 to 8 inches of rain as a general range across the eastern mountain slopes."

Talked with a friend in San Diego an hour ago. He said they are enjoying a little rain shower and the kids are swimming in the pool.

Up here in Thousand Oaks area we're getting dumped on. Started about 9am but not bad had all the windows open. Started pouring about 2:00, still coming down hard. Just went out, streets are flooded pretty good. No wind.  Basically it's raining outside so far.

Got a similar video from my brother up in Murietta about an hour ago. Rain was coming down pretty hard, but his palm trees were completely stationary.

The cloud cover has been nice in AZ. High of 91 on Monday.

Well, the  "storm" is gone and the only lasting impression came yesterday when I was watching the final round of the BMW golf championship. During the first part of the broadcast their local subsidiary, KCAL, was running an unintelligible  picture in picture radar loop of the storm path. It was actually blocking the hole on the putting green in a couple of shots. It was the same 5 second loop, over and over again. It finally went away and left a "Storm Warning" crawl across the bottom. My guess is that their phone was ringing off the hook with people telling them to get their stupid, fucking graphic off the screen. I wonder if the rest of the country had to put up with that bullshit.

I did have some storm damage. My BBQ cover almost blew off during a 1 hour, horrifying, 20 mph wind storm.
