Think local leading; not the brightest trying to enlarge the pics...Looks like PC...know Lackey, Mosier and others showed up there back then once, but might be Sears too..Been tryin' to resize for last hour; looks like NorCal rider holeshotting.

Sorry can't figure out sizing the damn thing; note Suzook against a couple riders wheelying.

Apologies again. The one with the start looks like Tadpole or maybe Lesniewski up front..plate think was 1a; 1 something. Maybe some of you guys from back when; here's another....this is at least 30 yr old film found still in the cannisters. Got another 36 exposure think is more old moto stuff.

Wow, man. This is all stuff that you shot and then didn't develop until now?

Yes.

Don't ask why I never developed it and I think this was a special race at the old McGills track Shultz's mechanic and several of us were just talking about last week where Lackey, Mosier, don't know who else came to race.

Just got found recently in an old shoebox full of family pics/slides. This was the 20 exposure. There is also a 36 exposure(that's what I normally used) b/w's ready to see if any are worth checking out. Also had an unused Kodachrome color cannister 36 ex. out of box.

Sure like to know at that start who's ahead on the Maico. Looks like a 1a...maybe Lesniewski? I can't remember.

andymoto- Great effort in bringing some old film back to life. No need to apoligize for anything. The shot of Lackey was really good and that's a cool shot of those guys pulling wheelies down the starting stretch. It would be something if they could be identified. I really enjoyed it all!

Yeah Tom. Thanks for the props a ton; you're the man here.. Been nice to ID the riders; #13 is two from right and looks like Mosier.....I posted it on another site and the pic is larger there than here...

I don't think this is '79 as one suggested, but it might. he swore the wheelying Suzook was Shultz.....the bike #33 looking to the left looks more like Shultz with his EuroCycle Maico jersey.

It looks like the old Prairie City track. The wide open start over the hill where Mike Hart (DT`s ex-bro-in-law) lost the front wheel on his CZ in a 4th gear wheelie. It looks too early to be the Magoo benefit that Lackey did. Maybe the CMC Golden State Nationals February `78 that was a mud-o-cross.

No problems on sizing for me. I just right-click, click on "View Image" and bingo, full-screen in most cases.

Thanks for posting this gold mine.

Thanks everyone. Nuclear has to have a real goldmine of stuff for sure...and I don't come here that often Nuke....I think those were 1978 GS mudder at the Blue Oak track.

Mine is miniscule compared to his; Tom Corley is the man, the myth and legend here......but I still got 150-200+ color slides slides still to scan...a friend is getting a slide scanner, so hopefully one of these days more will come...I dig 'em as much as all you guys....reminds me how awesome those days were.

Whoever invented slides should've been shot; but seems CN wanted b/w pics; or slides...I can't remember except Dale Brown was the editor of CN West in that era or someone high up on food chain there that you could talk to..

Thank you George. Love your stuff on the Smugmug.

Still got like 200 color slides that just waiting for friend to let me use his slide scanner.

Bassett....weren't those aftermarket silencers? don't remember 'em making pipes with the silencers though.

I checked out your link and was really cool. Don't remember Magoo ever wearing a faceshield or mouthguard.

Someone will now post a photo of him wearing one....lol.

Thanks George.

Bassett did boat high speed stuff (like header) and also got into MX because of his boys. He helped out guys like Jim Gibson, Rex Staten & Gary Ogden.

Wrench is correct, Bassett was Boat Headers and was an outside sponsor to some good riders.
The only guy I remember wearing sunglasses riding was Ron Turner and he did run DG colors during his time.

Hi Eric. Nice to see you here.

I just remember Bassett; what made me think silencers...duh...lol..

The shades make sense for RT, but thought he was a longtime Suzuki Support rider.

Thought maybe could be Pete or Tony Wanket. Thought one rode open Yamahas under DG banner toward end of '70s. Might also be a local, since I liked to take pics of local riders back then. Just don't remember any in DG garb.
