Not much news of any sort on Timmy Ferry lately other than he sold his house and has no ride so far this year.

GuyB, i think yakmx is referring to how much more accepted divorce is than in the past because over 50% of all married folks end up divorced! Anyone that's been through it knows its almost never emotionally or financially easy but US law does not require a 2 yr. waiting period like my second country, Brasil or many European countries, it makes the mechanics easier..

I can only think that the inevitability of it coming out lead DC to print that. Still, he shouldnt have done that unless hes getting an early jump on the annual April fools joke.

I may be completely off base here, let me know Steve.
I think in your job it would be damn hard to make any marriage work unless you were to be with a woman who shared your labor of love for MX/SX and your work ethic. You do the job of about 3 people which takes a lot of time and its obvious you really enjoy it. Lots of travel and time away from home go hand in hand with the job so unless she's into that as well, its a union built for failure.

I don't think DC was out of line for planting that seed. Its going to inevitably come out, the Tiger Woods issue is still at the forefront of news and you know DC and RacerX try to look at moto as a mainstream sport, so covering it as such includes the personal lives just like other sports do. At least he's using tact and not printing gossip as fact before its been confirmed, he threw us a bone while remaining vague enough to not incriminate anyone. I dont see anything wrong with his methods. He knows he cant please everyone and that here on Vital there are plenty of drama queens to find issue with it regardless of how they handle it.

One thing that gets to me is all the secrets in this sport. It like"we know but were not going to tell you." I don't care that someone big is getting a divorse (since the rate is so high in the US) but I don't like the"I am an insider" stuff. As Matthes always says, "no one can speak the truth." If this were any other sport we would know what rider is having a hard time with which bike, the teams and which one is having personal problems. Look at F1 awhile back. There was no secret which drivers hated Michelins or even who is struggling with what car design. But I think it goes beyond that and I think that is what "racerhead" was really about. It seems like everyone is putting on this show in this sport and we forget that the riders are people (very young people at that). So we all buy into it there for we must keep it that way. That why we have the "I am not going to tell you" thing going on. It think that is why the racerx podcasts are so popular. But, I will even say Matthes is guilt of it some times. I understand that this a small sport and it will offend some people but if we all pretend everything is rosie then we can't change the things that need to be changed. Thats just my two cents! I'm sure most of you and GuyB will disagree but it is what it is.
Thanks for listening the shows and you're right, I am guilty of holding back info sometimes. Here's the thing, you have to weigh the "It's not that big of a deal in regards to the shit I'm going to get after I say it" factor. Other times, it IS worth the shit you're going to get.

I read something this week from the NASCAR PR guy that said the media is not there to further the PR's objective. I like that saying.

Other times, it's not racing related so you hold off on saying something because you can put yourself in that person's shoes and realize that they're having a tough time or whatever.

That's pretty good PR. It's a symbiotic relationship.

Marriage breakups in my opinion, are for one thing. People are now greedier than ever. It's all about me, me, me. Everything now adays is what can this do for me. How do I feel. What do I gain. It many times is 1 person over the other in a failed relationship. I've seen atleast 100 marriages breakup in my business alone, not to mention family members etc. I usually can tell which one is the reason side, just by watching the interaction. Many times I see it well before it even happens. let's look at the "I'm a man" factor first. Everytime I hear, I'm a man, I need this or need that. Bla bla bla. You know what? A man is someone who says no to the hot girl. If anyone doubts I don't have many many hot girls offer me, come visit me in Dallas and watch me at my office. I have strippers, bartenders etc that are my customers. It doesn't matter. It is hard, hard hard to say no. But that is being a "MAN" Anyone can say yes. Some may not get the offer etc, that just makes life easier. How many marriages do you see break, because the grass is greener on the other side. Again, all about someone's wants. Now unfortunately, that has rubbed off more on women. I see women all the time who just want a fling etc. I see mean wives, I see jackass husbands. I see it all and just watch with amazement that hardly anyone can see the whole deal. It's all about sex, power and money.
All the sayings like, I need my space, I lost the feeling, I I I. Never, I'm not good enough for you, I really feel Bob would be better for you, and I think you should go marry him instead.
In reality, Even after a marriage breaks up, the spouse that wanted the divorce, doesn't want that person to be happy. It's still about them.

Great point. A man does say no, not yes.

3 years ago, I was at a Christmas party and this girl cornered me in a room, got right in my face and asked me it if would be inappropriate if she kissed me. I said yes but thanks for the compliment. She was hot but so is my ife who I love very much. My wife is way too good to me, I'm a pill. Trust me. But Im smart enough to appreciate her; realizing how great she is.

Let's face it if 50% of ALL marriages fail then 50 % of ALL pro riders, give or take, have gone through, are going through or will go through it.

Either way it isn't our business.

I'm actually surprised the MX industry is pretty good about marriages. For instance, most famous people have much higher divorce rates. How many movie actors stay married now a days? Not many.

It seems like most of the "I know something, but can't tell you" stuff that is posted on the internet is just put out there for the record. That way in a couple of weeks when the story comes out, the original poster can say, "See, I knew about this weeks ago." Rather than just not mentioning it all, the person posting has to make sure that everyone knows they knew a long time ago. This proves that they are not out of the loop.

That's the way it usually comes across to me anyway. Smile

Maybe so short a counselor can help knock out the dent in the marriage.

Possibly, his time away from the relationship due to training, testing and racing is creating problems.

Also, maybe it was Racerhead's intention to leak the story so those close to him could offer support, advice and counseling? Some of us are too proud to openly discuss our misfortunes even with close friends.
