Can someone explain this? Do we think Craig and Malcolm combined will make the full season? Get a win?
Ferrandis won 250 Sx 450 mx, is a legit title and race win threat every and doesn’t have a ride lined up?
I think it's because how all the cards lined up, there is not room on a factory at the time right now. I'd say it's a fluke.
If I was a team, I'd for sure spend the extra dime to have him on...
Agree with what was said above. Lot of guys don’t have rides. Just no room currently. Hopefully that changes with triumph and beta as they grow.
Timing and circumstances.
Adam Cianciarulo and Christian Craig had contracts from 2023 through 2024 that were signed in 2022.
Justin Barcia is the face of GasGas in the US, it's Troy Lee's team, he likes Justin and the deal works. Signed earlier in the season for two more years.
I think Kawasaki may have weighed the option between Anderson and Ferrandis but looks to ultimately have chosen Jason. He's been closer to a 450 SX title which I can nearly bet you they put more weight into.
Triumph 450 isn't coming until 2025.
Honda is full as can be.
Beta doesn't likely have the budget nor resources and info to support someone of Dylan's caliber. It would be suicidal for them to even try in year one.
Ferrandis is not known to be easy to work with. In saying that, I think Dylan is enjoyable to interview, never ran into anything personally with him. However, you hear comments from people that have.
Bad timing is the biggest thing. He's not happy with the team, they don't seem happy in the situation with him so they'd parting ways at a time when nothing else is really available. It happens in other motorsports as well where rides/drives are limited. Some of motorsports' best have had to take sabbatical seasons due to timing.
I think Ferrandis expectations on compensation are higher than all but maybe Anderson. It is the wise man that knows the value of his services.

You have questions about Craig and Malcolm competing a full season? No concerns about Ferrandis competing a full season? Well all right then👍
There's 10 guys expecting "Top 5" money
He won 3 250 titles straight and a 450 title 🤷♂️. Those are some complete seasons with wins and titles...those guys don’t do much winning let alone titles or even racing.
i like to see him on HEP/Suzuki with Kenny , and since McElrath is gone just maybe...........
Regardless of Craig and Malcolm's contract status, I would think Husky (or GasGas) would jump at the chance to land Dylan. SX is a meat grinder, and they have zero presence outdoors now, so I would think a third (or second) rider of this caliber would be an easy call, especially this far out from next season. What do you think Dylan would command per year as a base salary?
Remember one year Bam didn’t have a ride… it happens.
Dylan completed all races in his 2021 450 rookie season but came into the season fresh off an injury.
In total, of the 83 450 class races he should've competed in since moving up, he's missed 30...so he's missed around 36%. (If my math is correct)
Malcolm Stewart should've competed in 139 races aboard a 450, he's missed 49 of those races...so he's missed around 35%.
I know he has spoken with HEP, but I bet it comes down to budget. Can they afford Kenny and Dylan?
Shane was not making a salary at HEP.
I'll say it again. Kawi needs to ditch AC and get Ferrandis.
Shitty situation to be in with how good of a career he's had minus last season and the injury in SX this year. Would've been awesome to see him on Kawi. Kind of suprised to see Anderson staying there. I hope Dylan gets a shot on a bike he's comfortable on and doesn't retire.
Bam never went a year without a ride though, he did his own thing at Monster Cup then got the call from Yamaha. He was committed to taking himself racing if nothing came up.
Under contract. They've had AC his whole career, it's a bit of a gamble taking Dylan this late in his career for maybe one or two years. Even if he does win, it'll be a blip in his career and most won't recognize him on the Kawi or ever think about it again.
hopefully suzuki motor corp will rip the cobwebs apart and open the moto wallet and kick down some $ especially since only HEP and BarX are running the mighty ZUK
Craig won his Championship in 2022, Ferrandis won his last Championship in 2021. Both Craig and Malcolm salaries combined probably don’t equal Ferrandis salaries. But you need some to explain it? 😂
Pit Row
Don't get me wrong I get what you're saying. But Ferrandis is a far better choice as results and injuries go.
It all comes down to who the factory teams want to work with and represent them.
Craig and Malcolm are doing just 1/4 of races they are cheaper.
Remind me again, Craig was in the 450 class?
Malcolm is a decent/good starter, Dylan is not. Malcolm has more podiums and 2nds than Dylan, Malcolm has lead races, I don't believe Dylan has yet? Malcolm is a better SX rider that Dylan and Dylan is a better MX rider than Malcolm (just going by results).
Craig, no comment.
just my $0.02
AC only missed 3 supercross rounds and got a podium. Ferrandis hasn't finished a supercross season on a 450.
EDIT
I was wrong. He actually did finish 21 Sx 7th in points and made every round.
30 years old, never happy with the bike and doesn't have the filter they prefer when talking about it, recently injured and next hit to head and his career is probably over, lot of options for teams at various price points well below his. It would be more surprising if he did get a good ride.
$$$$$$$$$$$$
Marketability, AC and Malcolm are still very marketable and loved by fans.
I hate to say it but it's true. Unfortunately, popularity plays a bigger part these days that it ever has unless your winning races all the time.
With how hard he is to work with no wonder he is without a ride.
Uuumm, if nobody wants him over there , then we would happily have him back at the GPs
Post a reply to: Ferrandis no ride...but Craig Malcolm barcia ac and Anderson yes
