Well after purchasing my YCF 190, I decided to try another china special. Moving up from the PW50, i really didn't want to go down the fast 50 road (been there done that). Since we don't do much racing, i started looking for other options. I wanted something a little bit better than the pep boys pit bike. I looked a the YCF 50A but couldn't get on board with the cable brakes. I looked at the Apollo RFX Mini 50 but could not get the manufacturer to answer my email whether or not they would ship to the states from Canada. Then I came across the Pitster (GPX). Seemed to fit the bill. Small, electric start, hydro brakes, auto trans and easy on the eyes. I ordered one up and had it three days later. Since this bike is brand new and no information is out there, I hope this thread helps others. Here we go!

So I got the bike, took it out the crate and went to work. Lets start with some issues. As you know, with a bike like this you are the factory mechanic, better go over everything.

Installing the front wheel I noticed that the brake caliper was not shimmed enough for proper alignment. I fixed this issue by using small shaft collars in place of the thick washers.

The wiring (and there is alot of it) was bundled underneath the seat. One of the seat mount brackets was sitting directly on top of the wire bundle. Solution was to reroute the wiring and zip ty.

There are more issues i will address once i can provide photos.

The bike does start and run well. Could probably use a larger sprocket as it takes a little bit to build up.

So far I have eliminated the key switch and installed a kill switch. rewired the bike. changed the ridiculous battery to an RC battery.

Another issue discovered. The spark plug coil mounts under the frame rail but is to far out which makes contact with the fuel tank, pushing it towards the throttle side. The tank was also not cushioned with any rubber hardware which would eventually cause a wear issue. Because the tank is not cushion, the tank sits to low on the frame causing the two fuel lines to kink and sit on top of the engine. My solution to this will be to install rubber/ polymer hardware to raise the tank some. Also need to relocate the the coil.

So I relocated the coil under the frame. Changed the fuel lines out to motion pro and moved the petcock down and forward. Shimed the tank with some shock bushings I picked up at auto zone. Greased the stem bearings. Mounted some micro bars. I used the Suzuki cam but it’s now a 1/8 turn throttle. I will mess with that later to get more slack. started installing the graphics. Note: the shape of this plastic is smaller in every aspect than the ktm. Ktm 50 graphics do work but require a good bit of trimming. There is a lot going on under the hood of this bike since it’s so small. Just to get to the air filter requires pulling the coil, intake manifold, carb and tank. FML. I’m sure I will run into something else here soon.

What’s the overall quality like I remember the earlier Chinese stuff all the bolts were like chrome plated plastic

The quality of the parts are pretty decent on this. I do feel however this design not to good, as discussed above. Couple things left to do but pretty much done.

claimed seat height is 21.5 inches. I have not measured yet but it seems a tad taller than that. I'll take post back with an answer later.

the Beta appears to share the same engine as mine -10cc on the cylinder and looks identical to the Apollo RFX Mini in Canada. Looks like they may have a short rear shock. I wasn't able to find a pic on the stand to see if its just sagging under its own weight.

Keep us updated as far as reliability after you get a couple hours. I'm still pondering which bike we will move up to from the pw.

Went well. No problems to report. He rode it a couple of motos and looked to be doing well. I did change out the plastic T in the fuel line to a brass one. So far all is well. He did tell me he would rather his pw but I think its just nerves.

I am looking for a new bike for my son, he just crashed his 2001 jr50 and it bent the front forks and front wheel. How has this bike held up?

BF884 thanks for posting! I bought one for my son this week. In adjusting the suspension I snapped the triple clamp! Pitster sent a free replacement but lesson learned to only hand tighten those! Rear shock was spring and valved way to stiff for my 50 lb boy, so I bought a DNM mtb shock on ebay that works great and lowered the seat to about 19.5 static sag. Ya needs a sprocket swap to improve bottom end. But we love the bike. For the money it really increased the fun factor compared to our Crf50. Tell me how to swap the battery to RC type! Id love to relocate it and use the battery box for an airbox!!!

Hey man, where did you order those graphics from? Just got an FSE 60 for my son and want to change up the look of it. I’ve had quite a few issues with the FSE 60 I got. You’re right about saying there’s literally no information about these bikes anywhere.

What parts did u use to run rear break lever to handlebars and what ktm 50 graphics the small one I'm assuming and is the front brake cable long after putting shorter heights bars on. Other than that rode ours like 5 times non-issue with anything but want the specs on the chain guide u used also and kind feels doggy unless u hold it wide open any ways to make em faster.

I just want to hop in on this thread. I got my son the 60 last fall for his first bike. I was curious to see if he even enjoyed dirt biking. 
 

Well from my perspective, this little bike has to be one of the best values in motocross. We got it brand new for like 1k, only had one battery issue for the 50+ hours we had it. 
 

We took it trail riding, raced Mx, I mean bulletproof. I was impressed with the suspension as well and the group at GPX was amazing to help us if we needed it.

Had the FSE60 now for over a year.  Only issue I've had was in the beginning with small debris in the tank clogging the carb.  Added an inline fliter and cleaned everything out.  

Did anyone ever find a bigger rear sprocket?  Been riding more single track and just not enough torque off the bottom.
