I know all pros are mentally tough, you have to be, but who do you think was just at another level?

Hannah.
RC
McGRath in SX

Definitely not someone who chooses Dennis Rodman as a hero.

I agree. RC and RV immediately came to mind. I also think tomac recently as become much better mentally. Early on in his career not so much.

RC, Decoster, Hannah, LaRocco. Currently ET and Jett, but Jett is still on the list tentatively.

You know Villopoto won four straight 450 sx titles against him right?

Exactly, but Dunge never wavered.

Huh? He got smoked by Villopoto 9 times out of 10, and only started winning when Villo retired.

Dungey was who I was thinking too. He got beat by Villo so many times but never gave up and never seemed to lose his cool. Mental toughness doesn’t mean going out and being better than everyone else for a long time (RC RV McGrath, for example) it means gutting it out through demoralizing losses and still pushing through.

This. Most people have no idea what this guy went through.

RV2, he didn't have superior fitness or riding technique - he just purely willed it into existence in his prime. Especially when he was on the 250. WFO psycho ginga power

It's not like RV mentally broke Dungey and pressured him in to making mistakes, though. He was just flat out faster most times.

I was a kid but always thought Wardy held it together. School me if I’m wrong.

AC9. No one has been through as much as him yet he is still out there with a great attitude.
