How's the 820 doing now, all squared away?
Big shout out for making the effort and trying to get in at Southwick regardless, bad dude 🤘
No more "no choice" trips to the bathroom Matt!
How is the bike holding up?
I am mats dad, the bike is starting to get roached as you can imagine
And motor went in timed qualy at Washougal. People have no idea how hard it is to do what the kids trying to do.
Hoping he has a spare motor!
I know you must be very proud of your son. It's such a great story to follow.
I honestly could not be more proud of him! I know the struggle that he’s facing and the disadvantage is he has and what he’s been able to accomplish is nothing short of amazing. The best part, I have a pretty high profile position in the Motocross world. That being said, I have way more people coming up to me and asking me if I am Matt Burkeen‘s dad, which just makes me proud. It literally happens every day on the phone at the office, at the race track, heck even some guys in Romania came up and asked me if I was Matt Burkeen‘s father. They had listened to his podcast on Steve Matthes show on the drive from England to Romania. Proud is definitely an understatement!

Matt is a cool guy, he worked along side me on a construction job a few years ago and I bought him lunch one day. Well maybe a year later at a motocross race at NCMP while I was collecting my race awards, the trophy girls told me that Matt left an envelope for me, it was payback for the lunch! HA, CLASSACT! Rooting for you every round 820, back to the east coast after this break and time for you LET ER EAT! / SEND IT
Crappy circumstances, bad ass photo though!
Boooom!
It is a cool photo nonetheless....
Does Matt have a mechanic that goes with him to the races? I'm planning on going to Budds Creek and wouldn't mind lending a hand with the bike if needed. I'm an experienced mechanic and Yamaha 2 strokes are my specialty.
That's awesome and you can send him a message.
He posts on here as @LocalMB

Qualified 45th out of 87 at Unadilla.
Finished 27th in the consolation race.
Thanks, Mav. That completely stinks. I was hoping he would be able to qualify after a few weeks rest but the field is stacked with fast Euros so it was probably a stretch. Still love to watch the guy give it 100%.
He was using a stock cylinder this week as well, so he was underpowered even more than usual
