Tomac

Michael Jordan retired. then un-retired. And he was nowhere near his previous level. These rumors of ET3 coming back for TWO YEARS are sorta bittersweet for me - I mean, the guy is a machine and it's awesome to watch him but having such a long recovery....it's doubtful he'll be at his previous level. And I just hate to see him click off 5th place rides for his "return". A part of me wishes he'd post a farewell note and disappear to live his life. I hate to see him go out like that, but I also would hate to see him not be at his BEAST level he's been these past few years.

I think he could win again. I think he is happy with his family life, and his wife doesn’t mind too much going to the races!

Maybe he likes to get paid to race his motorcycle?

Dungey wasn't that far off the pace after 6 years of being retired. I'm sure Tomac will be just fine

Like most/all of ya, I'd love to see him (@full speed) racing Jett. Then, after a few races, we'd know just how generational Jett's talent is.

Wasn’t MJ better in 96 when he came back?

I absolutely think Tomac has 1-2 more years in him to be a solid championship contender. I hope he gives himself time to come back 100% healed and strong.

MJ “retired” because of gambling. Did the time and came back

He’s been the fastest guy in the best shape for about ten years. Why quit while still in your prime? You know he’s been hammering in the pool keeping his cardio up. Once his Achilles his healed it’s go time.

Terrible analogy, and borderline fallacious! I kinda hope you're just trolling us!

R factor = 0, meaning zero correlation between stick and ball sport and Motocross.

I know people on think Chad “tarnished” his records by riding so long but as a huge Reed fan, I’d rather see him out there racing no matter what position he is in, than not racing at all.

I thought it was badass he loved racing that much to put the ego aside and just go race..

Whatever happens if or when he races Jett Tomac is at a huge disadvantage. Pretty big age difference and this isn’t golf they’re playing. They’re at two different ends of the spectrum regarding the timeframe of being a professional racer.

Team sport vs BMOC sport. No comparison imho.

The blazing speed Tomac had a couple of years ago has faded away. He will be a contender if he comes back, but he wont be the fastest man on track for most of the time any more.

MJ retired and then came back and won 3 of his 6 rings.  Dry

Yep.  Had a good effort trying to play Major League Baseball.  Couldn’t hit a curve ball so he came back for 3 more rings with the Bulls.

Help me out here, why are we talking about Tomac "retiring" and "coming back"? Did I miss something?

Right? All he’s said publicly, is that he’s not ready to talk about what his plans are.

I'm sure he's talking about when he unretired the 2nd time to play with the Wizards

I'd love to see Tomac come back just to do mx. Even if he was a notch off his best. I know it doesn't work that way. Older guys don't do mx only it's the other way around

I believe Eli has the ability to go "beast mode" if/when he deems it necessary. I think he's matured to the point where he doesn't see a need to ride on the edge to win. I'm not sure he could beat Jett at pure speed, but Tomac's race craft is impeccable, and he might beat him by simply outriding him.

But, maybe not. I sure don't see Eli coming back to take a second or third. If he really doesn't think he can win the whole thing...he'll retire.

When he was 40 years old, lead the team in scoring, made the All Star game, played all 82 games, and lead a 18 win improvement for a terrible team (admittedly, they were terrible because Michael Jordan is an awful executive)?

Wtf? Tomac has not announced retirement?! He’s recovering from an injury. If he does line up next year it will be a continuation of his career. Not a comeback out of retirement. Y’all are kooky in here 😂
