I would just like to see great racing all the way to the checkered flag. Tight racing for the first 10 laps and watching somebody, anybody, check out gets boring. Too bad that is what typically happens at a Pro SX race.

So what I really wish for is heats, semis, and LCQ's, and cut the mains to 10 laps.

Here's one factor: James said on Matthes podcast that he can't train right now, while Reed is knee-deep in Super-X combat down South, staying sharp.

remember all the interviews at the start of 2008(?) where bubba said he had never been healthier and that he was 100% ready...

then after getting beat by Reed at A1, and narrowly beating Reed at Phoenix, he got "hurt" at A2 and claimed that he hadn't been riding for months due to an injury and was only 72%?

just sayin...

James and Chad are close in speed. Watch Phoenix and J'ville 2009. Ironically, I think James is more consistent. He may throw himself down big a couple of times a year, but he can run so many laps at that scary pace without blowing any sections. Chad may not crash a lot, but little mistakes cost him over a season (vs. James that is). I think Chad clearly has the best chance of beating James, but that's a tall mountain to climb. He'll have to forget about Stewart and attack the track every lap, every Saturday night, and see how things look in May.

When the gate drops the bullshit stops ...unfortunately we have to endure at least another month of this rhetoric that really doesn't mean much.

But i'm with Hank Thrill, it would be good to see Reed prove the doubters wrong.

Watch a race, would ya. Look at some lap times. At least pretend like you know the sport.
Did you see Phoenix last year, A2, J'ville..... did Stewart have the fastest lap time in every main .... do you know?

I went to Phoenix last year and, yes, Chad looked great, but I think it was more that James didn't look like himself. There was 14 other rounds outside of PHX, A2 & J'ville.

Sure, they are close in speed, but are they close enough where that whoever gets the better start wins? Nah. If Chad holeshots and James is anywhere in the top 5-7 he catches, passes and comfortably gaps Chad. If James holeshots and Chad is in the top 5-7 chances are that Chad gets to 3rd or 2nd. But catching James? hmm...maybe. Passing James...not likely. Gaping James? Has Chad ever done that? Not if James stays up...

It would be great for the sport if any of those guys could do battle with James without James making a mistake or a mechanical.

What are those races where Reed got a top 10 start and finished 3rd? A1 was Reed's only 3rd. He got up from a nasty crash and made the podium with no rear brake.
Why do people need to revise history with regards to Reed?
Did you see A3? Reed 2nd, 3 sec behind James, Milsaps, 3rd ..... over a minute back. If you respect James as he deserves, why not respect Chad as the only guy making any challenge so far.

Otherwise, we seem to mostly agree, right? Reed will have to do something special to beat Stewart. Did you read my original post?

A few of those names will end up on the injured list just as it does every season.

Reed is great but he does not have the WANT factor in him. He thinks he does but when it comes down to a all out battle on the track for a win he will not race Stewart. He wants to win the title but not on his terms. He is waiting for Stewart to do it for him and truth be told that has not nor will it ever work. Reed had a few chances to take control on his own last yr but chose not to.

Bailey said it best about RC. To beat him you have to be scared. Thats what makes Stewart so great. He was never able to do alot with RC outdoors but he was not afraid to race him. Reed on the other hand is afraid to race Stewart. Always has been always will be. Stewart, Reed, Grant, Dungey, RV

C'mon, what makes you think I don't respect Chad? I watched Chad reel off something like 6 wins in a row against RC in SX'03. He gets respect for life for that.

It is what it is. Just because I don't think Chad can beat James without "something happening" doesn't mean I don't respect him.

And yes, I read your original post.

I want more than anything for him to win the title this year. I'm a huge fan of Reed, and Stewart, but there are things that happened last year that make me really hope Reed wins. Technically, they are both champions in my eyes, and it's a shame 2nd place doesn't get the respect 1st does in the public eye, because they are both incredible. It's just that I want Reed to hold the trophy this time. I also realize Stewart is the man to beat (or his to lose), but if there's a possibility for Reed to win, I hope fate turns out on his side this year.
Hank..Shit in one hand and want in the other and see which one fills up first. lol.. Just kidding. Seriously though I don't think CR will even be close this year. I think this year will turn into the RV JS show real quickly. I would love RV to take it all but I think JS will get it done this year and RV will be the man from 2011 on.

Here's my prediction..

1st JS 9 wins
2nd RV 6 wins
3rd CR 1 win
4th RD 1 win
5th JB

I love how people are putting RV and RD ahead of Reed. There are 2 people on the planet that have beat Reed consistently In Supercross and we all know who they are. Can't wait for 2010 SX.

"There are" or "There arrrrrrrrrrrrrr" if you are a pirate. "There is" would be for the gangsta's. I hope my lesson in elementary English helps.

Stewart has peaked...he'll have the speed to dominate yet lack the desire to focus enough to put it together every round. Reed loves riding every weekend, especially racing. Its the day after day lonely practicing that destroys the motivation.

Hopfully RV2 makes CR22 practice sessions more enjoyable. The underdog for me is Josh Grant. If he can keep it upright. He is a freak..

Peaked? That is funny. They all love racing more than the work during the week.
