Why don’t they sell rider jerseys at the track?

Is there’s a reason why they don’t sell jerseys at a supercross or at the nationals.

You can buy a football or baseball jersey at the game. Seems like they are missing a huge opportunity.

For sure. I went to 2 SX races this year and the gear to buy is not to great. Hot heavy cotton t shirts 50$. Then Supercross branded stuff is ok I guess

Probably because you have to get multiple parties involved (rider, sponsors, team, gear mfg) and its easier to just spit out some tshirts.

The gear companies claim it’s because it’s too hard  to license to all the individual sponsors that are on the pros Jerseys, and if it has the rider name/number you also have to work a deal with them.  It sure seemed like FOX sold buckets of that 1-800-COLLECT gear in the mid 90’s.

$$$ to make and get approved by sponsors...Plus i think a lot of riders don't have a big interest in marketing themselves or taking on the stress to do such..

look at Jett when he did his jersey drop.. cost an arm and a leg to buy one.. yet sold out

I find it hard to believe that sponsors would say no to a gear company if they called them up and said hey we'd like to make a replica jersey and all the other sponsors have granted us rights. Do you want additional exposure at no cost to you as well, or nah....? Half these companies send me endless free stickers I don't want every time I order something, they obviously want their logo out there.

It's stupid that we don't have replica gear accessible to the fans. It's always the same excuse not gonna be able to get all the personal sponsors on a shirt, why not? Do you not like making money? They would sell out of Tomac jerseys at the Colorado supercross round. Why do the teams not sell them. It can't be that hard to make more of a riders gear and instead of giving to the pro for free, sell it. How they can't put a name and number on a shirt and sell it is beyond me. Fucking donuts, put a HRC logo and a 18 on a jersey

The biggest reason is Sponsors don’t want their logo branded on stuff for sale unless they’re getting their cut.

agreed, but is a perfect example however of why our sport wont grow.

they are worried about the wrong things now, or even 20 years ago, that could

of turned this sport into other sports where you could make generational wealth

The only one that profits from the team Jerseys is AliExpress!   You can get them all there.   Nuts!

I took my son to his first race at Redbud this weekend and he was bummed he couldn’t score a Jett jersey.

I get the whole sponsor thing but damn. Slap a name and number on the back of a T-shirt at least.

Bands make decent money form merch, seems like riders could do the same?

They had these at Daytona..not for Jett, but Tomac, Webb, Roczen, AP, I think a few others. They did have a Daytona shirt too. My brother went to Indy last year and said they didn't even have an event shirt.

I would think Deegan and Jett could easily be selling their own shirts online. If they aren't doing that now they're genius marketing departments are behind the 8 ball.
