Tangled with the 12 (or is it 72...hard to tell) off the gate, 12 went down then 109 hits his bike and cartwheels.

Or are you asking about whats the go with the bikes?  Yeah nfi...pretty cool though.

It's racing in Indonesia, Bobby.

It's incredibly vibrant, with a wide range of Classes and Bikes.

Both Production and Specialty builds.

And, those (generally) little blokes and blokettes, go at it hell for leather. Probably the world's best and fastest 'PitBike' (that's what many of us 'Bules' would call their smaller than our usual bikes) racers.

I've been to a few of these events - huge participation / entries, Big Spectator attendance at many . Some Amazing bikes, that make the rather limited 'Normal'  (to us, as in KTM,Honda , Kawi Yam , Suz etc) Mxers look downright boring. 

And their build ideas and engineering can be incredible. As a life long frame and 'thing' maker, I have seen some fantastic workmanship, and great ideas coming out of Indonesian Workshops ( though, of course, some Frightening things sometimes) , be they Race oriented or just Custom Bike builds. I've gone to builders workshops, been warmly greeted (while being eyed up as a potential pain in the arse Westerner) and allowed to check out their work and bikes. When I get on the tools and torches, the slight wariness goes away. What they can make from the most basic of workshop equipment and settings, would astonish most people. Mind you, many Builders / Companies have High Tech facilities, too.

Think of it as a 'Scene' much like the Dirt Bike Boom of the 70s and 80s in the West. But, at a far bigger scale than most could imagine.  

On the one hand, please make them stop. But on the other, after reading Bearuno's take and seeing their lines, this could be good for moto the world over. That sound though, aren't 2strokes supposed to sound good, all over the world?

It's not just the CT / SL Honda Laydown Cylinder ( and upright engined) type  4T twin shock and single shock  bikes, that we've never heard of or encountered .

They Do have 'Normal' bikes, and their Euro and Japanese 50 / 65 / 85s class racing is ever growing.

They tend to call it 'Grasstrack' racing, though, it's inevitably on hard pack , ironically in one of the most verdant areas on Earth. The tracks are, mostly, fairly basic, but they are  / will progress. One race I went to, when a few of us volunteered to modify some corners ( basically building an inside, or mid line berm to offer an alternative to railing the outside at warp factor 10) things really got full on. But, a few riders blowing through said inside / mid corner lines, made for some scary near misses.......

It really is a great atmosphere - as I wrote, akin to the 70s + Western World Dirt Bike boom. You'll find  heap of videos on YouTube of Indonesian racing. 

I wish I could find the pictures I took of it / them, but, perhaps some of the trickest bikes I've Ever  seen were ones made by a shop in Jakarta. Using those 155cc(?) Yamaha, water cooled, 4 valve Variable Cam  engines, in both 4130 and Titanium frames, with current Minicycle suspension and brakes etc. Think of build standards at , and perhaps above, Miller Mano bike builds. And, in more recent times: BBR. Mindboggling things, that when I had a brief ride on one, stunned me at how fast and good  handling they were to ride. 

They are an incredibly enthusiastic bunch up there, and, it's a Massive market for 2 wheelers - something like 6 million bikes a year are sold. Yes, most are commuters, but a hell of a lot, and ever more growing, are what we'd regard as 'real' bikes.

Kind of makes you think that someone somewhere should come up with a Supercross series that includes areas like that.

Looks like the 1970s in the US, and I’m saying that with respect and jealousy. I miss those days..

Looks like TT and Motocross had a baby.  That would be a really good old guy track……….like for me!!!

Little different but still good racing and they were doing the best they could with what they had and going at it hard.
