On xbox live for download, A lot differant than previous games, but will be great after I can figure out the new physics engine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make sure when you lean back w/ the right stick your moving it straight back, and not so much of a circle. Im weak at it too right now ha. Its still way better than the last one though. Use the gas when you need to drop the back end too. Im not giving all my shit out though.

Demo== Blowing big balls wtf were they thinking putting the clutch on R-1 f ive given it 2 hours and im just starting to get aggitated, The clutch is the main fucking problem. I would seriously like to punch the bozo who put the clutch on r1 it makes it really hard to play. other than that its fun, is there and option in the demo to change it? if not im deleting it and waiting till the whole game comes out
There's always gotta be "that guy...." Dry I think it's AMAZING (along with most everyone else apparently). The physics and controls take a few minutes to get used to, but after you figure it out, its awesome. I played it for about three hours straight. It's addicting. I got cross-rutted, swapped out in the whoops, and got flipped over the bars by a braking bump- in a game! I love the whips too. You can throw them basically as far as you want, however you want, but you have to get it back too. I've been asking for that in a game for years now. There are very few bad things I can say about this game, and I have to nitpick to think of those. A+ to Rainbow and THQ. 9.5/10.

Ok, so I don't want to get too down on the game because I know that a lot of work went into it but. It just misses the mark on a lot of areas. Believe me, I want to love this game and want to make it work but it just is impossible to even think that this is "Realistic". Why would you put the clutch on the same side as the throttle for one. And two, the bike just does not flow on the track the way that it should. Unless I'm just not used to the controls or something. To me, the controls of the bike are the worst yet in the series so far. It seems like it took a step backwards. The graphics and the little touches like the tear offs and the throttle hand on the line reving the bike, the jersey blowing in the wind is all cool and everything. But if your bike is crashing for no apparent reason or sliding out when you would think he wouldn't. And the tutorial is worthless on the demo. Plus the ruts I thought were too over the top, and the bike still doesn't seem to handle the whoops the way it should either.

Maybe I just want the game to be perfect or something. Is that too much to ask for? I'm gonna keep playing and maybe it'll come around but right now, I just don't know.

The clutch can be re-mapped to the left button in the full game...

Not available to Australia, I'm not sure if this applies to the playstation network but for me on an Xbox 360 I had to make a new account that is American then I was able to download it.

yea i'll be doing that, me and a few friends were surprised you guys didn't just put it there in the demo. Lots of fun tho!

I personally think it is pretty cool. Definitely way better and more challenging than any previous MX vs ATV's, no more keeping it pinned and just steering. Playing now will take some skill and time to get the hang of it. Will be interesting to play a SX track! Great job, looking forward to playing the complete game!

Forgive my ignorance, but are you one of the guys working on the game? I notice a few other guys that have posted on here that seem to really be "in the know" , but i never really got a full introduction as to how you guys were affiliated with it? Just in the game industry or actually one of the developers? Just interested to know who i should point my questions towards if i ever have any.

By the time I got it downloaded from the PSN, it was almost 10:30 so I didn't get a lot of "saddle" time with it before I went to bed, however, I thought it was great. Totally different from any other "vs." game. After the first couple of laps, I was hating it, but I started slowing down and paying more attention to braking and body position and I started seeing a method to the madness. Granted, I didn't make a lap inside of a minute, but that was more a product of not knowing the track. This game is going to be very challenging, and not mastered very easily (at least for "yours truly").

One negative was the clutch being on R1, I know you'll be able to re-map it with the full version, so I'm not going to bitch about that too much. The engine sounds are much better than on Untamed. The tear-off deal is pretty cool as well. Can't wait to get home and turn some more laps. Good work guys, I think you've got a winner here!

don't use the clutch, get on and off the gas a few times, will pick up exit speed tremendously

Took me about an hour to completely get rid of my "Untamed ideology" but its great now, i love the ruts and reflex system although every now and then i will crash for no reason at all or everything will go haywire down a straight and i will end up backwards. This game is going to bring in the skill, like in real life the speed is going to be made up around corners instead of over jumps.

Breaking my Untamed habits is my problem. I kept clutching with L1. I only played for 30-45 minutes last night. I'm going to give it some more time later.

Geeze you must have got those turds out of the way huh? The other riders seem to stick to you like flies on shit. Thats my only complaint really. The game is rediculously moto friendly i dont know about user friendly.
Not trying to be a super duper whore, but can you guys add another track to the demo maybe??

One thing I will add about the clutch for those of you guys asking about it. Yes it can be remapped in the full game. Think of it this way, you probably used it a ton in Untamed. It doesn't work the same, there is no boost.. It is like a real clutch to keep the RPMs up. You are riding 4 strokes so you actually don't need it that much. Maybe more on the 250f but for sure on the 125s. Just work the throttle like you would on your bike. I think you'll find it to work well. Also those having trouble adjusting. Take a deep breath. Smile It is a change from what we have done before but if you just slow your thoughts down a little and try to be smooth you will see a difference. Most likely you are all over the place from slamming the sticks around. Think Windham when you play and be smooth. Also learn when to use each stick. If you are having troubles do a race with just the left, the next race only use the right to pull back over the jumps, the next start to use it in the corners. That really is the bigger challenge. When to use what. Oh and take a deep breath. Smile

My lap time? 12 minute download. Sounds like I smoked most of you. Wink

Now as far as actually playing, I need some more practice there.

I just wanted to say that you guys are the shiat! This game is bad ass... Once you play it for a while, and of course, take a breath, you get used to all of the incredible changes. The clutch isn't as bad as everyone says. If you swap it to the other side, thats cool too.

A couple questions for the makers, what is the best way to scrub? both sticks to either side, or just the right stick?

The whips are flat out ridiculous, but how do you throw a turn down whip?? (This is a must know) I've done it a few times on accident, and I can't figure it out.

I have done my fair share of Rainbow Studios bashing in the past. I was very skeptical that Reflex would be any good considering how great they said untamed was, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Reflex is BADASS! The graphics are a hundred times better and the controls are really innovative. I actually felt like I was riding, and it was WORK to play the game. You have to pick the right lines and not cross ruts or you will wreck...CRAZY

My main gripe so far is the controls... Why would they put the clutch and gas on the same side.... makes no sense and is hard to work. Keep the gas as R2 but make the clutch L2 and the brake R1. That makes the most sense... its not like you're going to be braking and accelerating at the same time, all the time. They said that the buttons will be user configurable so it shouldn't be that big of a deal. The only other thing that bugs me is how frequent you crash with ANY rider contact. I really hated that about untamed too. I still think the 4 stroke sounds could use a little work too.

With a little bit of polishing I'm sure Reflex will end up being the game we have all been waiting for.

Props to Rainbow and their crew.

Same, there are a lot of nuances I really really like about the new game. A lot that make me think, do the developers ride quads?

Before I pass serious judgment on the game, I will play some more to get better acquainted with it. As of last night I got pretty frustrated with the bad aspects and felt that maybe waiting until the game goes on sale for $40.

The freestyle portion really stepped up. That aspect is very cool.

Just went home for lunch and did a few more laps. I switched to the 250F and immediately felt more comfortable controlling the bike, lap times went down as well, although I still haven't broken 1:00. RBW is right, the clutch is highly overrated on the this game, however, it is awkward on the start (no biggie). Use of the brake is MUCH more important IMO. It (the reflex stick) becomes more intuitive the more laps you do for sure. One problem: I can't seem to make an entire lap without crashing, and its never the same type of crash. Most of the time, I'm coming into a corner too hot and high-siding or, I'm cross-rutting. In other words, stuff that can be fixed on my behalf, luckily not too many run-in's with the AI riders, some good rubbin' but not any t-bone takeouts like on Untamed.

I'm really pumped about this game and can't wait till the full version is released.
