First step is take it seriously. I know, dumb advice, but it’s true. Develop a schedule like you’re a little kid again. Have a check list, run through it, lights off and no screens after bedtime. It will suck and you’ll feel like an idiot for the first week, but then it’ll work and you’ll feel great. Then you’ll get complacent and break the habit and have to start all over again. Trust the process.

As for more instant relief tips, sleep naked, buy nice sheets, de clutter the area around your bed and keep the temperature 70 degrees max. Sleep is easier when your brain and heart relax. Limiting lights, distractions and cooling down will let your organs tell you it’s time to relax.

70 degrees? A house will do good to take 20 degrees off ambient.

I live in north Texas. I will accept any $ugge$tion that you wish to finance.

I didn't pen that, it was a sign on a cattle ranch I grew up at, but it's one of my favorites.

I've never really have had a hard time falling asleep normally. But if I do, a couple muscle relaxers, a couple shots of Crown Royal Reserve, and a couple tokes of some good herb do the job.

If I drink too much I have trouble sleeping. Be 70 tomorrow. I cant do what I did when I was 40 so I have to do everything in moderation. I probably don't have the complications you have though.

Happy Birthday buddy! 👊

Valerian Root is good, but sometimes makes me feel groggy in the morning.

Hippy chick I used to date had a Lavender Oil roll on that put me out like a light.

I listen to sounds of rain and thunderstorms on you tube. Also summer nights, crickets chirping, and waterfalls. Soft jazz and guided meditation.  Diaphragmatic breathing helps me as well. I've got some issues so I'm willing to try anything. I've found that when I focus on my breath it's impossible to think of anything else. Good luck my man

I love watching You Tube to get to sleep, Outdoorzy stuff, preferably with no talking... it just clears my head of the day , and i can get to the point where i feel myself nodding off, so i shut it down, roll over and i am out in minutes.

And a huge bed to yourself, kids have gone, i have my own room, with my own stuff, set up how i want it, bed that suits me .  A co-worker said that ' it was unhealthy for a marriage ' to not share a bed, but i countered with ' people have killed their husbands for snoring' ....

Also wife suffers from sleep apnea and has a Ce-Pap unit she sometimes uses.

Also a huge help is proper blackout blinds, so it is dark.

Change things up till you find something that works

Don’t take it all the time but if I have 3-4 days waking up at 2am and can’t fall asleep will take zquill around 730-8pm, go to bed around 9-930 and sleep great until 6am. Tylenol PM also helped when my parents passed away and couldn’t sleep

I do take NyQuil some to keep me sleeping sometimes.  I fall asleep easy but my schedule has been only sleeping 4 hours many days.  On days that I can sleep longer this is needed.  Zquil does nothing for me.

If you’re going the off label medication route, mirtazapine is far more effective than trozodone for sleep

400 mg Magnesium Glycinate, 2 grams Inositol, 3 grams of Glycine.  Take all three an hour before bed, sleep like a baby!  Better than any sleeping pill.

I  fell asleep in my truck after a long day at a bachelor party.

We rode all day then had a Skeet shoot contest till dusk. after, I took a nap in my truck to get ready for the "Big Show!"

I was 30yrds from the shit show. but for some reason those Rounds going off with all the Hell raising was a dream in my mind.

Music to my slumber

As the night went on I was fast asleep. until I was awaken by my wife. Tugging on my foot to "Get the fuck up!"

at 5AM wondering if I was alive or not. I think that was the last time I had the deepest sleep.

That was 1992......I think Dizzy

I work 6pm-7am and my sleep schedule is pretty much garbage. I’ve sort of adapted to operating off 4-5 hours which is not ideal. On my nights off I’m typically wide awake from around 1-4am.
Melatonin helps me sleep for a few hours after work, if I take two it has the opposite affect

Problems or things in your life that are botherinhg you tend to manifest themselves at night. What seems like no big deal during daily activities can be overwhelming at night. Just goes to prove its in your head. Fight it with that in mind. And besides, nothing is better and pleasurable than sleeping. The power of positive thinking! A strong mind always wins

They're just as big of a deal during the day, it's just you're not trying to sleep.

It's kind of interesting, I don't do it enough but when I ride my bike at the track, it's the only time I don't think about all the other shit. No mater how big the problem,  as soon as I don't focus on what's in front of me. I'm in the traditional sleeping position, only difference is, now I'm trying to get up and out of the way. And yes I come home tired.

Just ordered one of these. My wife for sure will try it also. I used 25OFFCBD for 25% discount but then they add $9 shipping. It'll show up in 7-10 days

in fact, I took one about 45 minutes ago. So, good night.

This. I take a gel cap every night before bed. Gets me to sleep the entire night ~5 out of 7 nights a week which is a huge improvement.

I tried some anti-represent the doctor prescribed me a while back.

Feel hung over, caused me to shake, slept horrible, etc.
