RIP Moto brother. I remember parking by him at night practices at 290 Mx park in Waller back in the day. As good as he was he was always genuine and nice. Such a great human. I’m a forever fan. See you on the other side bud. ❤️
He looks huge on that Kx125 in the first picture. Anyone know what his height was out of curiosity?
God effing damn it!! This is the 3rd person this week I knew of that passed away. Godspeed James, I so wish we could of fixed you.
RIP James Marshall

Sure hated to hear this news. RIP James.
Fuck.
Rest in Peace Outlaw 🌹
No more pain.
I didn't know him or know of him at the time, but reading some of his comms and reading between the lines, despite the obvious tragedy , there seems to be a lot more tragedy that followed. I am sure there is more to the story than "his family abandoned him" but man - what a tough existence post injury.
Rest in peace, Outlaw.
God speed James.
I always get james mixed up with another guy that was hurt in tx around 05'ish,it was maybe one of those early march races, lake whitney, mosier, etc. He was maybe b class maybe even A class. Suffered spinal damage then. Seems like his name was James as well (could be totally wrong). I believe he was out of Cali though?
Either way RIP James. I always hate to hear of these guys dying. But working in the ED these guys live a very painful, complications filled life post injury. Heres to finally getting some painless rest..
Our sport if 'effing brutal!
Rest in peace James.
You're thinking of Ricky James.
RIP Outlaw. I have vivid memories from Highlands MX of feeling like I was riding my bike as fast as it could possible go and then 452 would blow by me and shower me with roost! All I could do was laugh and wonder how in the hell does he do that!
Yep, thats him. My boys where racing back then and pretty hot and heavy paying attention to the big races (we werent competing, way too poor) and his accident was probably the first one that actually hit home that you can get hurt bad doing this shit. It never stopped their desire and in fact it lead to me hauling my grandson all over the place now. I get to be the mechanic, logisticator, financier, etc all over again!! Lucky me!! Lol
Thanks Mav
You’re confusing him with Ricky James who was injured in the whoops at Lake Whitney. While both were spinal injuries they are both very different, and massively different in the quality of life post accident.
Hate to hear it. Had lots of fun with James.
A lot of great memories I have of him.
If you or anyone is curious/wondering, Ricky is doing well for himself.

I hate to hear that. Honestly i just confuse the names i guess. Im not privvy to james marshalls post accident issues. But as you allude to, they werent great. I can say with 100% certainty that if a quad (or even just para for that matter)doesnt have great support staff around he/she its not gonna end well.
I have never dealt with the immediate spinal injuries but the post care ive be around a lot unfortunately. It's a tough road even with substantial help.
Im sincerly sorry to hear that james marshall didnt have the post accident help he so needed and deserved! To you guys that knew him personally, I'M sorry for your loss.
Damn.
RIP Outlaw
Pit Row
RIP James. Here are some photos my dad took of James at a race around 05. Honestly did not expect to see this news today and it's heartbreaking. Every time I talked to him recently he was always positive and still helping those around him. No more pain, brother.
Rest in Peace Outlaw. You are an inspiration to many. Prayers for your family/friends and may the moto family carry your legacy with pride.
Damn this hits hard!! Such a nice dude, always kept smiling even when things were bad. Rest in piece James.
Uugh just hard news
He wasn’t big by any means… 5’9ish 175 probly but solid as a rock
I dont know what to say about this day.. First I hear a close relative off me died this morning in a quad accident. Then another guy I knew also died in a dirt bike accident and now this.. Rip and godspeed to all three of you
RIP James.
I grew up racing in Texas in the early to mid 2000’s so I got to see James rise through B, A, AX and then Supercross. I didn’t know him personally but seeing him at the track so many times a year, you get to feeling like you do. There were several guys during that era around here that got paralyzed or killed. The risk of this sport is very real and hard to accept sometimes.
RIP James. This sport can give so much, but also take so much. Always sad to hear of these injuries and the pain and suffering that follows. Godspeed.
Here's a photo from his last race in San Diego SX '06 mixing it up with the greatest of all time and other legends! RIP Outlaw452
RIP to a fellow Moto and quadriplegic bro. Had a few conversations with him on FB after his injury. Wish we could’ve met up in person before this.
Here's also a few photos from the first Ride Day at Glen Helen where the top guys at that time contributed and I like many were grateful to see this turnout to help this talented kind spirit!
The last time I saw him, he said, man, good to see you, give me a hug!
We raced together for just a few years and we always talked at the track. There was a ton of respect for one another as racers and friends.
James had the kind of style on a bike that most riders wished they had. He was more talented than most will ever know.
I did not know his family dynamics, I only knew the 452. It’s been a sad story that I’ve carried within since the day he was hurt. How he soldiered on all these years is a testament to the hard working racer he was.
Goodbye my friend, till we race again.
