What a trip down memory lane. I haven’t thought about Mototalk, motodrive or seatbounce.com in a long long time. All of that coincided with the peak of the industry imo. Good times. RIP teefus.

I will admit I hated his online persona but the one time I met him at Atlanta he was cool and fun to talk to. He definitely made things more interesting online though.

Steve changed the course of my life.
Non-moto section. Talking about diet.

14 years ago he led me down a path of avoiding wheat.  Not gluten free, wheat free.  This was before G/F was EVERYWHERE. I was in rough shape at 32 years old.  He helped me lose 50lbs in 3 months and have kept it off ever since.  (AS well as mediate several other health issues)
Not sure if I would have stumbled across this path without him.

I disagreed strongly with his political and spiritual opinions, but I believe he was a good man just trying to hold tight to what he believed to be true.

I will be forever grateful for him taking the time with a "just another poster on Mototalk" to make a difference.

Steve litterally changed the direction of our sport.

It all started when he sat up in the stands giving race day updates so we all knew what was happening.

Steve had finally gotten his body figured out and headed the right direction before passing.

I remember his original blog/site race reports. Had forgotten about those until you brought it up.

I can  remember him writing one about when he got stuck in airport on standby trying to make it to Washougal ,but he never made it there and still gave a second hand race report. Smile

Teefus always got everyone’s blood pressure up. Great guy always added excitement to Mototalk. Here he is at Mardi Gras, standing behind the old bag on the right 😂

I had some of the typical online interactions with the guy- he was blunt and a little snarky at times. When I actually met him face to face at a race, he saw my T-Shirt and realized who I was from the boards, and he was cool as shit. Just like pretty much every MotoDriver or Vital'er I have met in person.

Wow. Crazy it's been that long already. I always felt like I knew Steve but never got to meet him in person. RIP TFS.

BTW, where is Steve Bauer lately? He would have some insights here.

Had several disagreements with Teefus over politics,  but we agreed on physics (Seatbouncegate).

I remember a very long thread about whether or not a plane would take off if it was rolling on a treadmill (I'm almost positive he started that one).

After a particularly heated exchange,  he DM'd me to make sure I wasn't taking something he said personally (I wasn't). We messaged periodically after that and I always took his arguments seriously, because he was serious about his opinions and came to them honestly.

Met him in person at Thunder Valley and he couldn't have been nicer.

He was a good man.
