Doing it at one race is one thing. Doing it at many of the races is another. I give Chad credit for riding through it, but finding a long-term solution seems like it'd be a high priority.

Or was it just a way of getting Hill to have a go at a Yami fully prepared. He was riding poor all weekend until that last race maybe JS just lend him his bike!!

Goor ride by Brayton just like last year. Musquin was pumped and can't wait to go stateside. Aranda showed good potential.

Ben Coisy who had some pretty good results last year in the US has announced he is stopping his career (aged 25 I think) doesn't believe he can't make it within the US top 5 unless he makes some big sacrifices and investment. And he'll have a hard time getting a good ride in the US with the economy. He's lived his dream of racing a SX season in the US good for him! Pretty sad when you know he can score top 10 SX.

That sucks! Coisy could be a fantastic SX rider.

Taken from mx-pure.com -
Who won Bercy ?

You’ll probably get a different answer depending on who you talk to !

The correct answer is Justin Brayton, but fans in the hall saw a representative of Yamaha France stood atop the podium on behalf of James Stewart, flanked by Greg Aranda and Marvin Musquin, with Brayton not even in sight.

But where was Stewart ?

The American was in the sick bay after complaining of stomach pains and dizziness after winning the first two stages of competition on the final day.

Unable to start the final race, the AMA champion had a big enough points lead to head off the Frenchies, but, merde, Lariviere got it all wrong !

The results computer had thrown out the wrong result with an erroneous Saturday score for Justin Brayton in the cumulative result.

The 25 year old from Iowa, runner-up on Friday and Saturday and third on Sunday after two falls, was allegedly only 4th and no-one in the organisation had noticed the obvious error amid the chaos.

20 minutes later the error was corrected – Justin Brayton was the 27th King of Bercy ... by a single point !

The final was a knockabout affair on a track whose surface was treacherously slick after three days of solid action.

Marvin Musquin, a close second to Stewart in the Superpole and the "Americano", had washed out whilst chasing down Josh Hill for the lead, Brayton was next to go and Stewart’s teammate, way off the pace for two and a half days, ripped home the race winner from Aranda.

Musquin got back to third to take the overall on the day, and Brayton came home 5th, exactly the placing he needed, albeit unknowingly, to be crowned King !

BERCY DAY 3

1 Marvin Musquin (KTM) 2-2-3

2 Josh Hill (Yamaha) 6-3-1

3 Justin Brayton (Yamaha) 3-4-5

4 Greg Aranda (Kawasaki) 4-7-2

5 Fabien Izoird (Suzuki) 5-5-4

6 James Stewart (Yamaha) 1-1-15

KING OF BERCY

1 Justin Brayton

2 James Stewart

3 Greg Aranda

How many times has Reed raced when he was sicker then a dog? Ala like the last Supercross in Minneapolis oh wait what about the stomach problems he had all year. Its mind over matter.

CR or RC would never have stomach problems or get sick.
have they ever at a big race that they were paid quarter million to race?

everyone gets sick, from different things. but come on. this stinks worse than a 3 month old tuna in the sun.

You have to be in it to win it, all this coulda/shoulda/woulda is just bs. Brayton won, James lost, Brayton is the king of Bercy.

Seriously, stop with the excuses, it is just sad really. If we add sickness to the equation then it is doubtful that two riders have ever raced "straight up" as one likely wasn't feeling 100% and that is why they lost. Silly. I like James and he is damn fast, but everyone making excuses for him seems sad.

I'm still a huge fan of JBS, but the first thing I thought when I read Matthis' update on RX, I was thinking the exact same thing. It really does look fishy. Another "strange" occurrence from that camp. Aside from biting his tongue about the 06 Kawi, I really don't remember these types of things happening when he was on Green. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic and only remembering the good times. haha

Comparing Reed racing the SX or MX series sick and comparing it to JS dropping out of a one off race is like comparing apples to oranges.

If that's the case then Reed is a bitch for being invited to the U.S open and not showing up and racing it right? I mean we are comparing apples to oranges right?

Shit, the only reason we know Reed races sick is because he tells us every fricken time he podiums. So that was bacically the entire 2009 SX season. Most riders including James race sick sometimes, but you don't hear about it because they don't want to make excuses.

no. because reed didn't have a ride for the open. so no, your theory is null. kind of like stewie being invited to the mxdn and not racing doesn't make him a bitch.

SO they paid hime 250k to show up and race......he got sick and couldn't finish, lust like I said over and over in the thread I started about giving only one rider 90% the start money, they put all their eggs in one basket and it didn't work out.

No disrespect to Brayton he did an awesome job to win an rightfully did so and ill bet he could've beaten just about anyone that night. But...... they really did themselves in by bringing over one big name rider and not having enough for others to race. Maybe they'll rethink their strategy for next year......because James got sick he was not able to fulfill 100% of the obligations ....bet you he still got the 250 though. No disrespect to James either this is aimed at the promoters and anyone that thought I was off for bringing this up.....you can't predict something like this so it's better to diversify your field a little IN CASE something happens.

I will tell you fools what. If you were not in Bercy and saw what happened with your own eyes. Shut up.

Josh rode the same bike he had all weekend. James bike got pushed away. Brayton rode great, James was supper fast and sick, and Josh rode a box stock bike and did well. Muquin is supper fast and thats about it. Quite talking crap on everyone. All of the guys had ups and down durinbg the wekeend. Bercy is a long gruelling event.

Well you right in a way, we are comparing apples to oranges.

We are comparing someone who is tough as nails to someone who isn't.

Wow... Alot of haters round here.

I admire Chad greatly for his tenacity and grit. He's a friggin' monster.

But, having said that, I can't imagine doing anything productive with food poisoning. Alot of folks end up in the hospital on an IV from it.

How many of you folks have ridden with food poisoning? Really, I don't want to hear shit about "money being paid to be there"... That's simply bullshit. Become the best at what you do, then you can bitch about how much money you're paid to do such and such vs. someone else. My guess is most of the peanut gallery aren't even close to being the best at anything they attempt to do. It's fun to throw barbs around, but seriously!

I don't think you got the point I was trying to make probably because I didn't do a good job at getting it across.

I'm actually a huge CR fan but even I am a bit tired of the JS7 hate.

BERCY DAY 3

6 James Stewart (Yamaha) 1-1-15

KING OF BERCY

1 Justin Brayton

2 James Stewart

3 Greg Aranda

So a guy that has a DNS gets the runner up spot... Yeah, Brayton gets the win and props to him for staying in the mix, but it certainly doesn't seem that he dominated the field on his way to the crown like the runner up did up until the DNS.
