It's funny... on the main page, it says this thread has 51 replies, but this reply only makes #33. I guess some have been clipped. lol

i do a lot of traveling abroad....... i've gotten a lot of "food poisoning" while outside the USA...... that is Very Common knowledge to anyone that has traveled..... Bubba handlers should have been Extremely cautious with James and his food intake overseas.... they should have had him eating "normal" american shipped in food Before the race..... afterwards, let the kid loose and see if the local food would tear him up or not.... it's not rocket science..... and if they wanted him to win, they'd have covered all the bases..... obviously they did not.....

And of course there is no way they could have done that and he still got sick cuz you can only get food poisoning when you travel to other countries.

Don't some of you have something better to do?

Nah, the recipients would probably end up putting them on eBay...

You're fucking joking, aren't you? Do you think the rest of the world outside the US doesn't know how to prepare food properly? I take it no-one in the US gets food poisoning either?

I've travelled through Asia, Europe, North America and extensively through Africa and not once got food poisoning, although I've had a couple of bouts of diarrhea but nothing that stopped me from working or travelling. It's not that difficult if you follow a few basic precautions.

If you're suggesting he's that sensitive to variations in diet he better rethink his intentions to race the GP's in two years.

ditto.....but france"?....not high on the list of countries you'd expect to pick up a bug (although you can get sick anywhere).....Sad

maybe pro moto teams will start employing food tasters...Cheerful

Big James could handle it for everyone.......Grinning

I think JS and L&M were awarded the trophy at first due to some confusion on who won. I think that's why LB gave JB the trophy. At first I think Matthes twitted that JS still won King of Bercy even after the DNS. Then I heard JB won so there must of been some kind of confusion. Hell I'm confused and am probably totally wrong.
It sounds to me that LB did the "points math" before the final moto and figured that Stewart had enough points to win the overall without even having to race the final race (why risk injury if you dont have too).......looks like he miscalculated by one point though. But what do I know....I'm probably way.

Regarding the last line of your message here...

There's a big difference between saying, "Sure, I'd like to race the GPs," or, "That sounds interesting," and actually lining up to do it.

I have no idea if James actually plans to or not, but that sounded far from a locked down commitment to me.

I got "food poisoning" at Bercy last year after going with DC to the Moulin Rouge on Saturday night. I did not make the finals on Sunday either.

So BL says it's "The Man" that invoked JS illness. What exactly did you mean by "The Man"? I suggested it was a racist comment and it was deleated yesterday. I believe by "The Man" he mean the white man. If not I apologize, but really does he believe we're that stupid? When a black refers to a white as "The Man" it only can mean one thing.

Just for your info LB did nothing. The promoter told him to go up and accept the trophy. The promoters mistakingly transposed the numbers of Steve Boniface 141 with that of Brayton 114 and that is how it got mixed up.

Imagine this: fly 15hrs race like crazy, hardly get any sleep,. and then eat bad food. hummmmm, seams like your body just might be a little weak and you cant fight off a bug. let it go people.

I can't believe some people in this thread don't get it...

When at the top echelon of your discipline and getting paid huge money you are expected to perform under circumstances you may not like, and may even cause reduced performance. This is normal and expected, and if you fail in those circumstances yet cannot perform you are not worthy of the dollars and notoriety of that echelon.

This applied so all sector of society. Stewart is not exempt, and even if the moto media lets him off the hook, the fans and messageboards alike will not.

Stewart deserves all the hate he gets for this one, and imo the media look foolish and out-of-touch as they defend him.

And I can gaurantee he had some sort of illness during at least ONE of those 2,632 games and still managed to play.

Yes sir. That's what professionals that have respect for their fans do. Like Ripken said in his book, some kid may have saved his money all year to go to a game to see Cal Ripken take the field...
