Raced V2R in 2021 & 2022. That course is fast, fun and scary.
I did it in '04 on a YZ250. I believe we ran 15-47 gearing or something wild like that. We also had a choke switch on the handlebar so you could hit it every once in awhile to keep her from seizing up after being WFO for full mintutes at a time.
Good times! I race on a “Bruce Ogilvie Commemorative Team”. We race a very nicely prepped XR650R: the perfect bike for V2R.
Some of the craziest footage ever is watching the great KC66 bombing through the desert. It just doesn't seem possible how fast that dude would go.
