Is this a historical list? As in are you including deceased guys? Or is it a working list? If it's historical, include Ron Hussey and Steve Bruhn
Steve-

The idea is for current working photographers but I might use the veterans for some historical purposes.

Is this a list of people working in the pro's now or shooting anything local am ?

Either way there is a ton of local guys that shoot 1 or 2 Nats events a year or used to shoot a bunch and are somewhat retired only doing the local thing.

let me know your exact need and I can add a lot to your list.

Also no matter what no list is complete without Bonello and Bruhn... Just saying

On a related note, how does one go about getting connected with a media outlet in order to get credentials to shoot an event? I’m a glamour / portrait photographer and have shot a bunch of pro motocrosses as a spectator over the past 15 years or so. Have always wondered how to break in and get credentials.

Cincy TriGuy, I got into this because I have friends at the local tracks and they were looking for photographer. Everything I'm shooting is amature from 4 years old up through vet's. Trail bikes to 450's. If you want to get in and start trying to sell to the parents the best thing to do is find a local club and offer them some photos in exchange for a track pass and gate entry, if they love your photos they will promote you to the riders and families and you will start selling images.

My original project was going to be a directory style website that listed all of the photographers and then linked back to their pages.

It would also feature photo tips specifically for the motocross shooter.

Truth is, I didn't have the time or funding to do it.

Maybe I'll revisit the idea if there is interest or a sponsor.

Do you have something to show? Maybe people on here reading along are interested in a photographer with ambition. Who they can raward/pay with accreditation and acces to some events.

Scott, in that case, the list should include Jack Burnicle.

Elevated MX is doing some awesome stuff in Colorado. There is a laundry list of talented photographers/videographers in the CO moto scene and Elevated MX is a collaboration effort between many of them.

I was planning on returning to racing this year, but since I blew my knee out the first race back I was planning on shooting pics again at least for this year. I might even bring alphado.net back.

Thank you all for the updated information. This is a 6-year-old thread that was brought back up and honestly it is making me reconsider the project.

As I mentioned, I shut it down due to a lack of time, interest, and funding but I'm beginning to reconsider.

As a kid who started racing motocross in Southern California back in the early 90s, no motocross photographers were more important to me than Vic and Betty and their mini-vues.  After every moto I couldn’t wait to see the action Vic caught on his slide film.

This being an OLD thread from 2013, wondering if the project that these names were needed for was finished or not?

It was not.

My original idea was to create a directory website, but I didn't have the time or funding for it.

It is fun to look back and see the list of photographers.

Maybe when I get some free time, I'll restart the project, or anyone else, feel free to take the idea and run with it.
