Went through TSA in front of me. Was by himself and looked fine. Didn't want to bother him, by asking how he was doing. I'm sure he is sore, but he looked fine.

You sure it was him? I would think flying after a concussion impact like that isn’t recommended with the pressure differential but I’m probably wrong. Maybe it makes no difference.

I was under the same impression Eric. Hope it is true, guess we will see soon enough.

Why is everyone assuming he had a concussion?

From RacerX:

Afterward we checked in with Roger DeCoster, who informed us Webb had sustained a big concussion, and that he was going to be undergoing scans on his neck to ensure there wasn’t any damage. This spells the end of Webb’s season, and his quest for a third 450SX championship

Did you watch the race? He took a direct hit to his head, laid motionless on the ground for way too long and had no balance/coordination for a few minutes before being carted off.

Does that not sound like a concussion to you?

If someone truly saw Webb walking on his own, by himself through the Nashville Airport with the intent of boarding a plane, then me thinks he's fine and will be back to race the next round of SX. If his injuries were at all serious, he would have been at a Nashville airport.

ACs bike never touched Webbs head. He got a little whiplash from the hit to his back.

Even if he didn’t get hit on the head, which he did, Whiplash is a great way to get a concussion.

You must be talking about a separate incident. Webb got absolutely punted by AC

You might want to watch it again. AC’s front tire definitely hit Webb square on the helmet.

This will be an unpopular opinion for the people who are pearl-clutching, saying it was so hard to watch such a gruesome incident.  It's being blown way out of proportion.  I re-watched the incident in slow-mo numerous times.  At no time was Webb "run over".  Not his head, not his back.  Let's be accurate.  At no time did Webb lay motionless.  He was moving slowly and cautiously, immediately, like a guy who has experience with this would.
The blow to Webb's helmet certainly looks like it could have been enough to cause a concussion, but maybe not. I expected maybe a broken collarbone and slight concussion. Adam's rear tire contacted Webb's back with his side knobs and does not appear to even have torn his jersey.  He probably has some rash from that.

We've seen Webb come through worse than this.  His crash landing flat on his back was much worse.  I'm not a big Webb fan, but he is a very talented guy and a tough SOB.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him back next week if he passes concussion protocol.

His upper back/shoulder and ass/hip took more of a hit than his head. All you need to do is watch the replay in slow motion. You can see his jersey torn up from the front tire right where "Webb" is printed on it in the replay when he's standing with the Asterisk Medical crew. ACs rear wheel and rotor smashed his hip and ass.

I didn't notice a tear on his jersey, but I was less focused on video footage after he got up.  Your assessment is fair though.  I don't really think it's a big deal, physically.  Points-wise, yes.

I wanted to believe he didnt get hit in the head and I missed something. Just rewatched, looked like it he took a pretty good whack.

I'd call it a "glancing" blow.

A concussion is much more serious then a bruised tail bone.

The video footage looking towards the front of Webbs bike makes it seem like he took a direct hit to his head. However, his head was jolted forward from the hit to his upper back. The tire may have grazed his helmet but it wasn’t a “direct” hit. In the video angle from behind you can clearly see ACs front wheel slam into Webbs upper back then slide along his hip and butt with his swingarm. The impact to his upper back/shoulder threw his head forward and into the ground.

Webb looked physically fine when he was hugging his dad. He wouldn’t have been doing that with a broken shoulder or back and I doubt he had a serious concussion. I agree with above - it’s been a little blown out of proportion.

Do you not understand what causes a concussion?

In boxing, one of worst things for the brain is the fast rotation of the head due to a hit to the jaw.

Even if he passes protocol why would he risk coming back so soon? He's out of the title fight

He had more than a bruised tailbone.  He has some disc problems from that crash.

Same thing could happen to Eli in the next couple of rounds.  He's not out.  There's a longshot.

Still not as serious as a brain injury.

You need your eyes (or head) examined.

Why is everyone assuming he had a concussion?

Jacked this image that was posted in another thread.

As a side note....no news of this on front pages of VItal or RacerX .   Had it been Eli, there would be all sorts of coverage within minutes of it happening.
